Hello all. My 2012 JK 2 door sport is nearing one year in age and I am seriously considering the Chrysler Lifetime Maxcare warrantee with $100 deductible.
By searching this site I have read many pros and cons, which I appreciate. Since I keep vehicles a long time (the YJ I traded in was a '94) lifetime is the way to go. Also, until recently, I did most of my repair work. Unfortunately, as I have recently crossed the 60 year old line, heavy repair work is no longer as fun as it used to be so it is time to farm it out.
What I would like to know is what some of you paid for the Maxcare warrantee so I have some idea what to negotiate for. Two sites listed in previous threads have given me a $2,245 price and a $2,185 price. Has anyone gotten below $2,100? $2,000? The local dealer is at $2,500 and will not budge so I'll be shopping around online.
Check Jeep.com if you haven't already. You can buy it online directly from Chrysler. In my case, the website was about 40% less than the dealer wanted.
Definitely check the online places. Absolute lowest my dealer would go was ~$2500. I bought from Harold Zeigler for $2185, and they offer 12 month no interest financing, so I didn't have to front the whole thing up front, just 10%.
You'll be lucky to get anything warrantied under an extended warranty. Just save your money instead, take care of your Jeep and keep your fingers crossed.
But these extended warranties don't cover anything if you use Jeep off-road or if you modded it at all outside of manufacturer specifications, no? At least that's what the fine print states on that link. Can anyone clear this up?
I've got Lifetime MaxCare on my WK2 (orig owner) and was going to add it to my Wrangler (used 2012) but is the Lifetime option only available to "original purchaser" or can second owners add Lifetime as long as the Jeep still within the basic warranty parameters? A finance guy at a local dealer (I was poking around prices) said Lifetime was only available to original owners. Anyone? Bueller?
I also have mine through Zieglar. You then get to make monthly payments on the official Mopar Vehicle Protection site Mopar Vehicle Protection Payment Plan Zieglar was much less than jeep.com (over 1k less) and the dealer.
I paid something like 2500 or 2700 for the lifetime extended warranty on my 13 JK Sport last weekend (July 6th). Just thought I would put it out there for reference. If anyone needs a reference for negotiating let me know and I can send info.
I will be ordering a 2014 in the next couple of months. Definitely want the extended warranty since we plan on keeping it forever:angel:! Would love negotiating tips. The price I saw on the jeep website was going to be around 3000. I'm hoping for more like 2k to 2500.
Just under 2k from C.R. Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Hudson , Mi.
I talked with Rodney , he was very helpful . I did a down payment and Mopar had zero financing for the rest . Why spend my money when zero interest is out there .
"That is one one the best values in the car business!! Unlimited miles, unlimited years!! The only restriction is it is non transferable, and it the coverage will max out at the retail book value of the car at the time. One touchscreen or ecm/pcm going out and you are ahead! I sell them for $1985.00 all day long!"
This was written by Mike Noble from Hayes Jeep. He's a forum member (ID Noble). I'd say send him a message and see if you can get it from him and save a little bit of money! :thumb:
For what it's worth, I have never spoken to the man, just happened to remember seeing it posted earlier. Passing along solely because it sounds like a cheaper option.
I just purchased the lifetime Max Care through Mike Noble yesterday for $1985. Very professional guy and quick replies and communication. It showed up on Mopar Owner Connect website today and I'm happy. I'd be all over this if I was you guys at this price.
The F&I girl, rude to begin with, was asking $4000 and trying to tell me I could not get it once I drove off the lot. It amazes me that they still think they can get away with this crap.
