What are the best off road performance parts I can put on my jeep. It will still need to be functional on the highway and the parts I get need to last so no expenses spared. I want to do this build right and only once.
AEV (IMO) or OME can't go wrong with either. The former has more of a holistic approach.
Although, OME coupled w/ARB you are getting a "whole jeep" approach to a quality build.
Want a 3.5 lift with some travel I'm gonna be going in wooded areas and a shallow creek(2ft) sand and rock plus lots of highway. Going to want it to hold up.
Will need a front and rear bumper with tire rack, wench probably a warn waterproof, new heavy duty drive shafts and axle, really good shock absorbers are a must for stability
I would look at a Dynatrac ProRock 44 for the front.
Check out our RS9000 shocks. There are a lot of positive reviews out there.
My Jeep isn't a "daily driver" per se, but when I drive it, I drive far!
Fox make great shocks, but they can be firmer than some like. That's why a lot like the 9000's. If I was do a ProRock 44 I would do RCV shafts. On one of our JK's we had chromo shafts but they snapped.... no issues with our RCV's over the last 4 years and that Jeep is the one we push hard. Driveshafts, I like JE Reel or a reputable local drive shaft shock.
The answer is "none"....at least for now. Wheel it and see what you need. Build it from there based on needs....not wants.
In the past, my wife has accused me of "ruining" vehicles for the highway by putting lift kits on them. For the most part she was right. This time around (with a new JKUR), I limited my self to a set of 33 inch Nitto Terras.....which actually improved highway ride. We went off roading, It did just fine for everything I needed to do and rode great for the 1800 mile trip. I feel no need to further mess with the suspension or tires.
Should I get wideners to help improve the ride? And I'm thinking about going with General Tire for the tires.
Any rear bumpers in mind, I want one with a tire rack
