looking to purchase bf goodrich rugged terrain for my stock 18'' wheels with stock height...have 255/70/18 (factory tires)
Was interested in the 275/70/18
Just concerned if its going to rub or mess up the ride due to stock height??? Also what would be the biggest I can go??
Town fair tire told me the biggest I should go is 265/70/18 this is not even an inch from my stocks seems not worth.
My worry is that I don't want small tires cuz I'm planning on lifting my jeep 2" in the future n would like a more aggressive look. Not sure when im goin lift it but I need tires now. Maybe someone experienced this n can help me
275/70/18 should fit but saying that, it all depends on your Jeep. If you have or plan on getting a heavy bumper causing sag. What is your current spring rate? On a Unlimited, weak springs cause sagging. And other additional weight or do you disconnect on the trail.
265/70/18 are safe. They won't rub at all
275/70/18 will not rub during full turns like 285's will but since they are taller depending on the above factors they could rub the fender during articulation. For the most part people are safe with the 275 but not knowing everything means that they could. Saying that, normal driving will see no issues at all it's just the trail that may have issue and thats just not a sure statement.
Town Fare Tire are a bunch of scheisters. I hate them. Ive tried to use them a few times in the past. They always say they are the cheapest around. They arent. They say they match anyone's price, even on line. They wont. They say they take appointments. They dont, but they do give you a number so you can wait in line until after their buisness hours and then tell you to go home

I second that!!! I went there to get a quote on some bfgoodrich n the guy try to sell me some (mastercraft) I never even heard his tellin me I shouldn't lift my jeep also shouldn't do spacers or bigger tires lol
I stayed stock size (255 70R18) but went with the Hankook ATM RF10. I absolutely love them and they have an agressive look. I had the Jeep dealer order them and got a deal, all 5 installed for under $1k. Tire has great reviews as well. Tire Details - Discount Tire Direct
