Got a JK 2008 with 33s and want to lift it only 2". Im thinking of taking the chep rout and just getting some 2" spacers for the front and back and throwin them in myself.

Any ones that are better that others? Best bang for your buck? Is it too risky to just throw in spacers and nothing else? (meaning could i over extend my shocks and whatnot)

Thanks!

You could just throw in pucks/spacers, but you should also change the front sway bar links. The Teraflex 1.5 kit is very popular and includes those parts. It's a great value at around $155.

It adds 2" to the front and 1" to the rear for a nice level look. Most of the customer photo's on the link below are 33's. Good luck! :beerdrinking:

I think you'll get the best quality finding takeoff Rubicon Unlimited Springs and shocks (often around $100), use stock rear sway bar links to replace the front links. I think Teraflex was the brand that sells a 3/4" front spring spacer, which could be used to give you a bit more clearance up front, and only costs $20.

19/60 springs will just about do what you want if you have low numbered springs now, I did this along with the front 2 pucks from a teraflex leveling kit and am really. Happy with the results. I have Rock Hard front and rear bumpers with a winch. If you have the stock bumpers you should be good with just the springs.

Mopar makes a 2" spring lift but it's not the cheap route.

Depending on the weight of the new tires it might be worth the extra money to bolster the suspension with better springs and shocks etc.

You should be fine with those, I found after putting in my leveling kit and front and rear bumpers my springs were really sagging from the weight (14/55) so I needed to go to a heavier spring rate. I found my springs on criags list for $60.00. I am pretty happy with the lift I got with this combination for the short term while I am adding all my other mods and can finally decide what lift height I want in the end.

I did the same thing that some of the other posters mentioned. I too have a 2 door JK (2011) and found a really good set of springs and red shocks off from a 4 door JK Rubi Unlimited with about 5000 miles. The guy was awesome and threw in 4 Daystar .75" spacers too. :)

I started with 14/56 springs and went to 18/59 springs with the red shocks and added all 4 spacers. I netted exactly 2.25" overall. I still have the stock bumpers and stock 32" tires as well. The only extra parts I replaced were the front sway bar links. In all, total cost was $250 for parts. I am very happy with my setup.

If you put in 2.5 and do nothing else, you will probably be ok on the road, but I wouldn't do any flexing. At 2.5, you should have the front sway bar links changed and your shocks are too short and will need the spacers.

Also, most all lifts are designed to eliminate rake so your rear should be 1" less than your front. You don't have to do this, but it's what looks right to most people.
