I have drawn up a brace on Inventor that would be made out of aluminum and would reinforce the top of the loop. I will probably make one this weekend with a mill and i was wondering if anyone would be interested in purchasing one for just a little over cost. It should be an easy fix to the problem of the bracket breaking and you wouldn't need to deal with Bestop. Just putting the idea out there to see people's interest. Ill try to post some pictures this weekend when its finished.

It basically is a loop itself so it should function the same. I will bolt onto the door surround below the loop.

Great idea but I don't think it will stop the problem I had. Mine broke at the bottom and this design provides no added support for the area of concern. Bestop has redesigned their Bows (shortened them) so that there is not as much pressure necessary to compress it for installation. I would suggest calling Bestop tech support and discussing it with them if you are having problems.

Another issue with the design is the size of the screws, the size of the hole needed will weaken an already weak part.

Of course I also stand by the idea that the cross bows really are not needed.

Hey RockLobsterJKU - Just wondering if you had gotten your replacement bows yet and if so how they worked out for you.
