Bestop instatrunk = awesome

Got the bestop instatrunk installed over the 4th and it is great. Have seen a few unanswered questions about it and thought I would post it up and give feedback...answer questions.

Not sure why they list it as a 4 piece. It is actually 2 solid steel plates, a gasket and 2 bolts.

Was a little skeptical when assembling but once it is in, it is solid. Got before and after pics below. Still allows access to the rear storage, which I was concerned about.

This in in a 4 door, and I would say it leaves a good amount of space for other items between the seat and it. Didn't measure but looks like 20" or so.

i have one in my 2 door. Not sure why Jeep stopped offering them as an option. Of course, steel is always better than plastic

Wait, I have the Tuffy, not besttop.. sure looks similar

here's the old ones in the TJ:

That's slick. Is it something that can be popped out quickly if wanted? I put a large dog crate in the back of my Jeep and I'm not sure if it would fit with the truck installed.

Once you get the hang of it... You need to unbolt 2 bolts and use a torx to unbolt 2 of the cargo loops. It slides under and those are used to bolt it to the floor. I would say 10 minutes to remove.
