bestop safari top

I just bought the bestop safari top and I'm not very happy. I have to pull the plastic buckles so tight just to get the back to stop making noise when it flops that the plastic buckles have become deformed and are ready to break. I'm happy with the material that the safari top is made out of, but i can't believe they use plastic buckles. What have others done to solve this issue? Should i return this to quadratec, or maybe buy metal buckles to replace it with? Are there any other brands out there that have a top with metal buckles?

forgot to mention, the thing still flops in the back and the front part fills up with air and still moves around excessively. I have everything as tight as physically possible, without breaking anything. (I broke a nut already when i was installing the header from tightening too much.

Not sure why they dont have the sleeve in them like the Safari top that comes with the Trektop NX. With a stiffer bar mine Safari doesn't flap at all. If they had added this to the stand alone Safari, it could eliminate this issue. No flapping at all even at hwy speeds

I just put my new Bestop Safari top and header on craigslist.
I have always been very happy with Bestop but this is about the worst thing I have ever used.

I tried rics1997 advice but could not get anything to work with the thin Safari top. I think the Trektop may be heavier and longer than the Safari top.

I tried bungees, velcro, and pvc. Could not keep the "bubble" in the front from popping up and the rear from flapping. Could not even reach highway speed without pulling the straps loose.

Really disappointed. The Safari top for the TJ's did work fine. Sure cannot recommend the Bestop Safari top for the JK's. Get your money back if you can!!!
Good luck
