Bestop Soft Top Liner....Problem#2

Last year I purchased the Bestop liner, for soft tops, and reported that it was inadequately designed and needed to be re-thought. The Bestop on this forum told me to call customer service; no doubt you can imagine how that went.

There is another more serious problem: If you try to fold back the front of your soft top the liner must be removed. If you decide not to put the liner front back on you MUST cover the Velcro strip attached to the front assembly of the soft top...if you don't it will slowly wear away the interior part of your soft top. I found a 2" strip of wear on my soft top after I removed the liner.

This is a disaster as the wear through is almost to the exterior vinyl. Thanks Bestop for the heads-up on this Velcro issue, last thing I get from Bestop.

It just kind of makes sense to me that this is not a product you would want if you plan on actually lowering your top. In which case you should have a hard top. I don't see how this is an indictment on the entire product line.

I'm sorry for your experience Steam, but logic would dictate that the hooks on velcro are abrasive. It only makes sense that you wouldn't want them contacting another surface for an extended period of time. Perhaps the design could be improved by swapping the mating surfaces of the velcro, so that the loops were the part contacting the softtop when the liner is pulled back....
