Bestop Trektop NX question

Have a new Jeep "JKU Freedom Edition" (YAH 1st Jeep and I LOVE IT!!).

I like the price point and the look of the Bestop Trektop NX, but I want to make sure that I can be driving down the road with the top tottaly down and if I get some rain, I can stop and put it on in a timely manner.

Thanks a ton!!!

Welcome to WF

If the top (Trektop NX) is "all the way down", it will probably be sitting in your garage at home. If you keep it in Sunrider mode, you will have the top part with you...but the side and rear windows can be a beast to haul around.

ahh gotcha, so if I want to be in full convertible mode, the supertop NX would be a better bet it looks like. I never thought finding the right part for my new baby would be so hard!!

That's exactly why I went with a supertop instead. The price difference sucks though.

Yes, if you want to be able to take it with you....get a Supertop NX....or find an OEM take-off (that is what I did). It is a lot cheaper to find a factory take-off on Craiglist. Just make sure you get all the parts.

The NX is a pain to put the windows back in "in a hurry" 5-10 minutes. That is a long time in the rain.

But they do look really nice especially in the twill. We pay close attention to weather when it comes to running it with side and back out. The top only takes about 15 seconds to open and close that part is super easy and run it that way all the time.

Get some straps and roll up the rear window and clip it to the lip that hangs over the back. Leave it on full time.
The side windows are easy enough to store. You can also pull out the hard plastic sleeves to make them ever more flexible.

You can also just velcro the sides windows and zip them up to the back window.
With the front leading edge tucked away under the door, they're not going anywhere.
You can find somewhere dry and zip them up if feel that you need to.

Really can be done in a few minutes. Especially once you get used to it.

That is pretty much how I run my OEM top. I also just unzip the rear window and let it flop inwards (without removing the window bar). I usually keep the side windows on.

That way I can drive until it actually starts raining because it only takes seconds to close the vehicle up.
