Bestop trektop nx Troubleshooting

I recently traded my OEM soft top for a trektop nx..

After noise issues and troubleshooting I found out that the screws "sandwiching" the canvas in the header (or whatever the front plastic piece is called that latches to the windshield header is called) were loose. Quick tightening and done..problem solved

I took a trip to PA a few days ago and on my return trip the noise was so loud that I couldn't talk on the phone over 55mph. I get home and go to re tighten and put loctite on the screws to find two of the screw holes broken completely...

Here is my question. Any sources for parts for this top? Bestop wants 351 dollars plus shipping to replace it and no warranty due to it being second hand.

A hard top is in the works.. I'm currently saving up for one but I love the soft top and want to keep it but it's abnoxiously loud..

Any advice? Pro tips? Or do I suck it up and wait for a hard top to come along?

I pulled this off the Bestop Website:

Can I get replacement parts for my Bestop soft top?
Yes. A majority of parts are available and can be purchased directly from Bestop or our distributors. You may call toll-free in the U.S.A. and Canada at 1-800-845-3567 (International Customers please call U.S.A. 303-465-1755) or email Bestop Customer Service for more information or contact any of our Where to Buy distributors.

I don't have the part you need available, but Bestop wont sell it to you? Maybe you can find someone selling a damaged top for cheap and rob the parts you need? Good luck with getting it fixed up!

Yea man that's what I was trying to say. Bestop wants 351 dollars for that part. Which is nearly half the value of the top itself if I'm not mistaken

I'm just gonna keep an eye out for a busted bestop and see if I can't snag the part off it.

When I put my new Trektop NX together, I imagined the same thing happening, but it hasn't yet (I've only had it a few months).

Could you not make some new holes somewhere and screw through them? You could screw into either solid plastic on the back side or put in some epoxy or JB Weld as a backing to screw into. That's a $4 solution compared to $351, but it may get you down the road a couple more years.
