bikini top PROBLEMS! help please....

I'm a newbie here but figured if anyone could help me, it would be you guys (-:
we tried installing the bikini top/wraparound windjammer/ dustcover. It was a pain in the tookis and we are pretty mechanical. Here is our problem/question- on the bikini top there is a sewn in pocket up near the windshield channel. Does anyone know what that is for or how to smooth it out? It looks terrible. It is just bunched up and I don't like the way it looks. Any help would be soooo appreciated! Thank you

Tried that...doesn't work due to the plastic slides that fit in the door surrounds. Just can't figure out what that sewn in piece is for. If that wasn't there I'd be a happy camper...guess ill call besttop in the morning and have a discussion with them (-:

have solution-think of it as a "pleat" one velcro strap around the roll bar at the point takes out the chance of a "wall" of water of the top if caught in the rain-channels rain to tha point to drain top of bikini-how is the wraparound jammer going just put mine back on this week?

I get what your saying.....just looks crappy to me. The windjammer looks good, bit of a gap in it too behind the seats. Maybe it will look better after it stretches some.

I feel like it shouldnt be like that. Of all the pictures I've seen of the bikini, none looked like that.

it looks like that pleat is there to get folded under depending on whether you have side rails or not. Look at page 3 of the install document. It shows that getting folded under, then strapped down.

Thank you for the pictures and instructions. What is funny is that is not the installation sheet that came with mine.

funny but not surprising. web documents always get updated first it seems. Glad it helped. Post up another pic once you get it adjusted. Curious what the difference will look like. I am looking at one of those tops too. Not sold yet.

so i just got off the phone with bestop and their bikini expert really didnt have the answer i was looking for but she did help me out. she said it was an engineer decision to put those pieces there but didnt know their reasoning (sometimes they overthink things and make things more difficult than they should be). she did tell me how to correct the problem to make it look better which was helpful so im ready to try it again....:-)
