Any recommendations that I can put right over the factory exhaust?

I did the same thing on the tip on my TJ. I had some high heat paint leftover in the garage from when I redid the lid of our gas grill at home. It's held up really well so far, even though the tip is flatter than it was after the last trip to the trails. Let me know if you have questions!

I wanted mine to disappear. The muffler is way too big and ugly...imo.and I don't want to make the v6 any louder by going to an aftermarket exhaust.

I just used ceramic coated flat black header paint. It holds up great even with the salty roads in the winter.

The paint is going on two years old in the pic and is still like new.

That looks great.

I did the same thing - used VHT ceramic paint and blacked out visible exhaust components. I also used POR15 and Hammered Metal finish spray paint and blacked out everything else. I then used Fluid Film over everything but the exhaust. It looked perfect as of this past Summer... I will post update pictures as soon as this first Winter finishes up :)

The VHT ceramic paint does have particular temperature curing instructions... Be prepared to use the better part of a morning to cure it properly. Additionally, I read a lot about "VHT paint failures" and most were tied to improper prep work... Take the time to do things right.
