Black Lug nuts on Polar Edition

Bought a Polar edition JKU last week and looking back at the Jeep.com promotional page on this model it showed and stated that they would have black lug nuts. Not a deal breaker, but would be a nice feature and I would think that if the marketing folks felt it was worth mentioning, then it would be worth providing with the vehicle. Included is an image from the jeep website.

Anybody else get silver lugs nuts or better yet, did anyone get black ones. Jeep tells me the Jeep I got is correct with chrome lug nuts.

I think Jeep should pay to make good on it's advertising when it the vehicle is delivered obviously wrong. I think Jeep thinks this way too. Good company.

This is just an option, I am using them to protect my lugs and adds a small amount of theft protection!

Funny, I never noticed but mine were chrome. I've since changed tires and wheels but the Polar tires and wheels are now on my wifes 2013 JKU Sahara. I had to go back and look at a picture I took on delivery day. Click image for larger version

Chrysler seems to be having quote a problem this year producing jeeps to spec...

No mineral grey wheels on Freedom Editions.

No spare cover for Polar editions.

No black lugs for Polar editions.

Actually though, all these issues are with hydro blue jeeps. I wonder if a white or billet polar has the same problems...

Anyone with a white or silver Polar want to chime in?

I wonder what will happen with Willys in hydro...

Latest from Jeep customer support is that I am outa luck and they sent me a link to a Chrysler media site that shows an image of a polar with chrome lug nuts. They ignored the jeep.com page that describes the Polar Edition. I realize that this is a small thing and otherwise I'm pretty happy with this jeep as a replacement for my 2011, but I like the blacked out look on the wheels and would like to have black lug nuts.

You're all better off just replacing the lug nuts altogether with McGard's. Factory lug nuts are cheap pieces of crap with a tin cover over the actual nut. If you do any amount of wrenching, you've no doubt spun a cover off a lug nut and you know how frustrating it is. Not to mention, it looks like crap and causes lots of problems down the road with corrosion.

Honestly, I bought the Mopar wheel lock lug nuts (not sure why because anyone can get the key), they're silver though so go better with my chrome lug nuts.

If I can black out the Mopar lug nuts I'll put the black Polar ones on once I get them.

The thing that irritates me about this thread is people say they are being denied by Chrysler customer service for some really minor items that are clearly advertised.

Personally I find that to be false advertising, something Nissan took too far, and just got fined for doing. Either advertise the true product you are selling, or don't even bother making the advertisement.

Was going to buy these but didn't like the looks at all, so went with the McGards #24538, will see what they look/fit like when they get here.

There are no black lugs on any Jeeps. I saw a Dragon edition yesterday and it had chrome lugs. Someone posted the press release pic of the new Altitude and it has chrome lugs on black wheels.

I can kind of see how jeep could have weaseled out of the black. The pic on the first post obviously looks black but if you read the description next to it it states, gloss black pockets, black hub cap and LUGNUTS. It didn't have black in front of that word and you all got lug-nuts. Whitch sucks cause the black looks better.

Thats one way to read it, black not in front of lug nuts means you are just getting lugnuts, BUT I have yet to see a jeep delivered without lug nuts, so the only purpose of Jeep putting the lug nut description in the ad is to mean you were getting black center caps and black lugnuts . But , like the other posters said, no big deal. The purchasers would have seen the chrome ones when they picked up the jeep.

I found these on eBay and considered buying them for my new Polar. Do you have a pic of them installed?

Just put one on the Spare for now, but they look better than the Mopar ones, which I think look much larger. They are about 1/8 inch longer then the stock nuts.

The guy without the matching spare cover did argue with Jeep about false advertising and got his spare tire cover - then Jeep updated the info on their site so it's not listed anymore.

Personally, I like the black lugnuts better but I'd swap them anyhow for locking or splined so I would just buy some black ones then. I do agree leaving it worded like that opens them up to issues, especially with photos where it shows black lugnuts. I mean, if you are reading the statement, if they said nothing about lugnuts, would you expect that it didn't come with any and you had to buy some to take delivery? They are implying it by just mentioning it.

I just purchased a white polar edition and have spoken to jeep regarding the white spare tire cover and they say it was error in regards to production. However I just finished speaking to someone in Jeep and they are locating a parts # with the hopes of my ordering one. It is 695.00.
