Has anyone found a good source for blackout labels to cover the ugly warning stickers that Jeep melted into the sun visors? I hate those things. It used to be you could remove them with a bit of work and Goo Gone. Mine are melted into the visor, so no easy way to remove.
Yep, plastidip them. Actually on the driver side, I put this on mine. Maintained Roads/Mommy Visor Decal It was there for about 6 months before my youngest son even noticed. My wife and other son still haven't noticed it.
That is TOO funny! I posted about having jeep hair once and someone said they had to see pics or it didn't happen. So I posted a picture of Chewbacca. :lmao:
Just get a visor organizer for drivers side. For passenger side, I got a CD organizer. CDs are the round discs you can insert into your audio system slot to play music.
I ordered some black stickers off eBay ($6 for both visors) to cover the warnings, with the inside of the hard top painted black it gives it a more "clean" look.
I thought about using the stickers but figured they would peel or even annoy me after a while so I just sprayed mine with LineX. First time using the stuff and I'm much happier with the look.
Nope, just unscrewed the visors and coated the both sides with LineX, no taping or prep. it's a crappy cell pic so don't strain your eyes too much. But the visors look so good I can barely notice them. No longer an eye sore
Why not just remove the decals? 91% isopropyl alcohol, some cotton balls and a guitar pick were sufficient to get mine off. What little adhesive residue I could get off was easily covered with a fresh coat of Duplicolor Fabric & Vinyl matte black. Mine look 99.9% perfect. You could only tell that they have ever had a decal on there if you know exactly where to look.
Thanks for posting. I’m not a fan of the airbag sticker, and I’ve tried the pixel decal which I haven’t been impressed with (it’s too small and almost impossible to get it on perfect.
I went ahead and placed an order for these covers.
There is another thread I read on using 91% alcohol and q-tips, worked great for me. Hardest part was getting a corner started, just keep applying the alcohol as you peel it off. Go slow and keep wetting as you pull it back. Almost got mine off in one piece but went a little fast when it was almost off. There is a little ghosting, but much less noticable than a sticker.
I did mine this way a couple of years ago. Takes patience, but works (I used cotton balls instead of Q-Tips).
