so I am swapping bumpers (front and rear...) from my full width XRC smittybuilt .. to smittybilt xrc gen2 stubby bumper and because I am getting narrow fender flares i am changing the rear to a poison spider rockbrawler II
is that blaspheme having two separate brands as bumper styles?? How many actually have done it like this. I hope i am not the only one lol
I have an extreme terrain barricade front bumper and OEM rear bumper. It's no big deal to have two aftermarket brands. I don't like the barricade rear bumper, so eventually I'll put some other brand on mine. I replaced my front after some highway debris damaged my front OEM bumper.
I have a barricade front and aev rear. Love the aev rear bumper, super solid. I think you will find that it's pretty common to see 2 different brands installed.
Nobody cares and the average person looking at your Jeep has absolutely no clue what brand anything on your Jeep is. Go with what you like best. Who cares what anyone else thinks!
I am going through the same thing right now. Going to JCR flat fenders, so I am replacing the rear bumper with a JCR as well. Keeping my stock Had Rock bumper in the front since I already spent a lot of money getting my winch installed with all the Maximus 3 stuff. Don't think it will look bad, especially since I have the end caps off (see my avatar).
I personally like matching, however as long as it looks good together it doesn't matter much. I'm not a fan of poison spider however because they stamp their logo into everything. I tend to avoid products that have that.

Personally I couldn't care less about what others think of of my rig. Build it the way you want it! The majority of people that comment on any vehicle whether truck or Jeep is based solely on how much crap is bolted to it or how big the tires are! They don't have a clue if the steering has been upgraded or axles have been replaced.
I don't think it makes any difference as long as the two have a completely different look. I have an LOD up front and an ARB in the back, and I get complements on them all the time.
I run a Poison Spyder Rock Brawler rear Bumper with Tire Carrier. My Front Bumper is a Bestop High Rock Bumper with a custom stinger built by a friend and I.
I ran a custom front bumper and a Smittybilt rear on my TJ, and I had a Poison Spyder front and stock rear on my first JKU. The only reason I have matching bumpers on my Hard Rock is because I like the stock bumpers. I don't see any issue at all.
I'm fairly certain chroming every piece of trim on the exterior is a bigger sin, Dante had a special level in hell for those jeepers, Mixed bumpers is more like not telling the wife how much said bumpers actually cost.
The biggest worry I have is finish consistency. I like the HardRock 4x4 finish on their products and the aluminum factor, so I went with the full width patriot in the front. Im going to order the aluminum rear in a few weeks.
Im odd when it comes to brands, I like everything to be consistent so I try to have as few brands as possible.
