Blasted navigation system...

I have one, just cause the jeep I wanted had it, seemed like a waste of money and it is proving to be.

Any way to update the damn thing? I don't get half the roads or addresses I need 60-100 miles west of Chicago. WTF? Hubby has a cheapie garmin and it does. Which is why I am so annoyed with it, his gps was 150 bucks, this option was over a grand. What did they do, use some old obsolete crap in the jeeps? It has buttons for the telephone thing which isn't available either. Kinda seems like robbery.

Try getting an updated DVD? Is it CD/DVD-based or is it a hard drive based nav?

The update disc they are sending out does nothing to update the maps or the navigation system. I just received an offer in the mail today from Chrysler to update to navigation system for "the bargain price" of only $199.00. What a rip off! I would like to know if anyone on here has ordered it yet and if the updates are really worth it. The maps on the system were completely out of date to begin with and I would be afraid to spend the extra money and still not have what I need on the new updates.

This site has the update software. I don't think they have the maps but give it a look. The software can be downloaded and you update your mygig yourself.
