I am considering a new Borla dual exhaust for my 2013 Sahara. I had Borla on 03 Cobra and it was the sweeeeetest sound  I've ever heard on a vehicle. Not to mention it looked great....does anyone have experience with Borla on their Wrangler ?

I think that's what he's asking.

I just put a Magnaflow on my Jeep and it really brought some life into the engine. Sounds excellent. Of course this doens't help much with your Borla quest.

Yes, they do make them for Wranglers (split or single exhaust)...I'm a new Jeep owner (Sahara is production). I had a Borla catback on my 03 Mustang Cobra and it had an awesome sound. Just don't know how it sounds on a Wrangler. Borla quality is second none ...

I have read good things about the Flowmaster 40, though

I've got my eye on the same exhaust for my 12' just in the dual... Would like to know the same.

Have always loved flowmaster on jeeps!

Every aftermarket exhuast I have heard on a Jeep just drones. We have one guy we wheel with, hear him way before he arrives due to the drown. Believe he said it was a dynomax. Believe it has more to do with the motor than anything else. I'd keep your stocker around for a bit if you change yours. Might be wanting to go back after some road time.

Borla

When I first bought my Jeep, I read about people relocating their muffler up under the cab where it was supposed to be safer than in the back. Not all mufflers will fit up there, obviously, so you have to be careful. I found this Borla ProXL with offset that fit great. Sound is not as loud as many performance mufflers, but it definitely sounds better than stock. Nothing is going to make our V6 sound like a V8, but at least I don't sound like a mini van anymore.

I've got the Borla Cat back and at first was worried about how loud it was but now that I've gotten used to it I love it. I love the popping when decelerating and the tone is deep enough that it doesn't sound like a ricer. On the hwy you can hear it but no drone. Highly recommend.

That sounds really good! Might have to consider one. Where did you get yours? Did you install it yourself? I put a dual Magnaflow on my Sierra and install was pretty easy, so would imagine this would be as well.

I don't remember if I got it from Quadratec or elsewhere online. I usually shop it to find best price. I thought it would be easy to install especially on a brand new jeep with only 100 miles on it. I even ordered the fancy exhaust hanger removal tool . First off, room was limited. Trying to get the bolts loose on the old exhaust clamps was a bit difficult but doable. The hangers were much harder. I just couldn't get the leverage to get them off. Not sure what I was doing wrong so I drove it to my local shop and they put it on no problem.

Hello super-old thread! I just put a new dual Borla on my Jeep. First test run made me a bit nervous to be honest, we will see how I get used to the sound. We put a Borla on our 2002 Durango and had huge results with HP, MPG, and sound quality. Hoping for the same for my new baby!

So... Update on the cat-back Borla on the 2016. There is an alignment notch that lines up the catalytic converter to the stock exhaust.

Unfortunately, Jeep may have moved this on the 2016 model, because the notch on the Borla exhaust didn't line up quite right. When we put it on, it seemed like it was good enough since the pipes were on quite far and the hangers still went on fine.

All seemed well and good until I started hearing a rattle every now and then, which upon closer inspection was part of the muffler assembly hitting another part under the Jeep.

Whoops...

After dismantling most of the exhaust (and having to remove that skid plate again), I had to grind down that blasted little metal guide so the Borla exhaust would fit nice and snug.

It looks fine now, but holy hell, what a PITA. (Doesn't help either that I've been working out a ton this week and my arms/shoulders are dead tired.)

Word to the wise if anyone else is putting this on a 2016... It may "look" fine, but be ready to bust out your Dremmel and hand files!
