Bra or No Bra

Need options on leaving the Jeep Bra on or take it off...
If I leave it on will it scratch my paint by flapping in the wind?

It doesn't matter what we like, it matters what you like.

I like it too however, it's likely that the unexposed paint on your hood will fade at a different rate.

It only matters what you like, but since you're asking, you must care what others think, which is fine... Truthfully, an overwhelmingly high percentage of people will tell you NOT to do it... People think it's cheesy, dated, pointless... When I see a bra on a car, I think of the 80's--cars like the Fiero or Le Car.

Again, I'm not criticizing you, just giving you the straight truth... Ask yourself: How many bras do you see around these days? Done already? Zero. But if you get a bra, you need to go all the way and get some louvers, too!

Wife had one on a new car. When we took it off paint fade and lots of scratches. Just my opinion.

It will scratch underneath with the wind flapping. Also you'll need to take it off in the rain anyways. More of a hassel that it's worth. If you are looking for protection, then you might as well go with a plastic "windshield protector" that actually doesn't.

I used one years back on a car I had. It will def leave clearcoat all hazed and scratched right where it ends. Not worth it unless u plan on repainting hood at some point in the future.

With all the damage those bra's cause, what exactly is their purpose? Same with bug guards, they don't keep bugs off the windshield, and I have never had bugs on my hood. I have seen other vehicles with scratches from those bug guards too, they rub the paint to the point of wearing through to the sheet metal. Not exactly a good trade off.

I don't like them either. Based upon what you found underneath it seems like it's better overall to leave it off.

I will do clear bra (3M, InvisiShield and etc) if for protection or no bra.
I'm happy with the clear bra I have on another car, though one could argue that repaint the hood is cheaper having professinal to put on the clear bra films.
I think the protective film on headlight is beneficial to keep it clear from scratches.

If using a regular bra, should take it off when you don't need it.
The problme about the regular bra is sand will be trapped undernearth and rub against the paint causing even worse scratches if leaving it there for a long time.

If that bra is just for the look, the cons seems more than pros

I had a bra on a mustang once and it left a mark on the paint when I removed it a year later.

I say no bra.
