Brake pedal is soft.

I just bought a 99 Wrangler Sport, The brake pedal is soft every time I try to stop. I can pump it up but after a few seconds it is again soft. Being that the vehichle is new to me I need some advice on the best place to start. Thanks in advance for any help.

Check the master cylinder. It could be low on fluid or there could be air in the brake lines.

It was a bit low on fluid, I added to the fill line and still have the same issue. After further investigation, I see fluid seeping from the rubber gaskets where the resevior connects. I am going to replace it just to be safe.
