Hey Guys and Gals!

I am in the market for a brand new wrangler, want wanted some direction, as far as the models, some of the "must haves", I am wanting to do some customization to it my self once I get it. Must hands are updgraded tech package and auto transmission. Want to keep the cost to a minimum from the dealership..

Any feedback is appricaited!

To keep costs to a minimum, Sport S package (gives you power locks/windows) then any little other options you want. Limited Slip is always a good choice to have too. Other than that, the Sport comes ready to customize.

Depending on how married you are to things like color, etc. You want to try and snag (do a search) fora MY '15 as it still has the Full 5yr/100k powertrain warranty - that gets cut back to 5yr/60k in MY '16.
Sort of a Big Deal when trying to "Keep cost down".
As mentioned though things like LSD (that can't really be added after-market) are the things to focus on.
Like on a Jk, I wouldn't care about power windows, mirrors, locks etc like on a JKU.

It depends on what you mean by "customize it" yourself. If you are willing to swap axles, then yes go with the Sport. If coughing up $11k for a set of front and rear axles or the skills to build your own axles from scratch are not options, then order the Rubicon with the 4.10 gears. You will actually be ahead of the game from a Sport or Sahara with the minimal mods needed to run 35 inch tires.

I would agree with Mike. I bought a Sahara 2010 but decided I would go through the MOD process myself. I've installed lockers $ modified differentials and still don't have what's comparable to a Rubicon build. The Rubicon comes standard with front and rear lockers. Aftermarket Eaton electric lockers installed by a professional source runs anywhere from $1,700 to $2,300 per axle. With the Rubicon you also get electronic front sway bar disconnect which is pretty convenient in many situations.
