Broken Shift Knob

Has anyone ever heard of this happening?

The silver ring on the tip of the shift know just fell off the other day.

It is the middle of the summer in dallas (100*+ all month) and I think the plastic tabs on the bottom were weakened by the heat.

That's weird. Oh well, gives you a reason to replace it with something cooler now.

I looked at the Carfax on the recent purchase of my 07 (I know little late) lol
On top of all the fluids being changed or topped of it said "replaced shifter knob"
??? See for yourself.

Too funny that you asked this, was wondering what could go wrong with the shifter knob lol

My shifter knob is coming off this weekend, but looks like you have a head start! I vote to replace it...that plastic chrome is annoying as sh*t on sunny days.

Drake Part JP-180012-BL - 6-Speed Shift Knob by Drake Off Road for Jeep

It has a much nicer feel to it then the stock one.

Is this what you are talking about? It does lend a ballsy look to the shifter!

That tire look around it is pretty awesome, but I prefer the all black. Would be cool if they had it in all black.

Yup! I got the standard 6 speed ball. If you have a lift or want a slightly higher knob the extended one is really nice too. Btw, the pictures do not do them much justice...they are REALLY black.
