Build sheet says I should have tinted windows

I just received a build sheet from Chrysler

Within the build sheet there is:

GBBS Tinted Windshield Glass
GCBS Front Door Tinted Glass
GCFS Full Metal Doors w/Roll-up Windows

My car doesn't have tinted windows, even the windows on the soft-top are clear.

Just checking with you guys if I'm correct before I spend too much time at the Jeep dealership just for them to tell me I'm misunderstanding the build sheet.

The GBBS I would assume to be the hard top windows, or the blue bar that some cars have across the top of the windshield.

The front door tinted glass generally isn't more than about 5% which is not really noticable. I think tint over 15% is illegal in many states.

The hard doors are just that. Full doors.

My build sheet says:
GBBS Tinted Windshield Glass (Looks clear to me)
GCBS Front Door Tinted Glass (Had tint added at a truck accessory shop)
GCD Deep Tint Sunscreen Windows (These are tinted, had my front side glasses tinted to match, tint is as dark as Texas will allow)

Don't quote me on this. The windows have a slight tint that "helps reduce harmful UV rays coming into the cabin". If you look at any CJD product all of the factory windshields and side windows will say sunscreen glass on them.

The windows on the soft top won't be tinted. It sounds like your windshield and door glass is tinted. The tint is not heavy. I know that for 2010 you or the dealer had to order deep tint for the hard top if you have one. "Deep tint sunscreen windows" $300.00 option.

I have a soft top.

Also, I highly doubt my door glass is tinted, even if its a mild tint. My windows are so clear and clean sometimes that I can't tell when they're opened or closed.

Sounds about right.

If you look in the brochure of most any car, you will see "tinted windows" or something to that effect listed in the grid of standard features. Frankly, I bet you'd be hard pressed to find one that didn't have it indicated.

It's simply not clear. While they may look clear, automotive glass has a greenish hue to it. Like Pat@FieldsJeep said, it's a very subtle tint (I do believe the glass does indicate it's 'sunscreen' or something of the sort).

If you were to receive tinted soft-top windows, you'd probably have the option code as follows:

GCDP Deep Tint Sunscreen Windows.

I see you have a 2-door, so that code may be different, but my build sheet for my 2009 Unlimited Soft Top reads as follows:

GBBS Tinted Windshield Glass
GCBS Frond Door Tinted Glass
GCDP Deep Tint Sunscreen Windows

Windshield and front side windows appear clear, whereas the rear side windows as well as the soft top windows are very much tinted.

Hope that "clears" things up (get it?)

;-)

On my 10 Rubi it does have a slight tint but the glass doesn't indicate "sunscreen glass" anywhere on the windshield or side glass. There is no "blue" bar or heavier tint at the top of the windshield. The only thing that might indicate a tint is that there is the letter "T" in the center of the lettering and numbers affixed to the glass just below the Mopar symbol. I'm just guessing at this. The window sticker also doesn't list any type of tint under standard equipment. My build sheet does indicate GBBS Tinted windshield glass and GCBS Front door tinted glass.
