Building overhead console for my JKUR

Yesterday I started working on a Overhead Console build for my JKUR. So far I have built the main body. The main body is made of wood. I wanted to build it with steel but I couldnt find what I wanted at the local hardware store and I cant weld nor do I have a welder. I also have Aluminum angle iron that I will be attaching to the body for extra stability. Once I have it built and am going to paint it with truckbed liner. I have mounted my CB in the overhead console. Im super excited about this and I hope it works out because it has been a PITA lol. I only have a couple of hand saws and a old, ridiculously heavy skill saw. Pics to follow.

Are you trying to recreate the Tuffy overhead console?

No, not really. I did look at it for inspiration.

Not completely done yet. Everything is functional, just needs a little cosmetic work.

does look like a tuffy with the radio slot open. I had the tuffy dual compartment in my TJ -- loved the thing
