Question Bumper/Winch/skid plate setup--Need advice

So, I am looking at the Warn Elite Series Front Bumper with the Warn Zeon 10-S Winch and the wireless control. I think this setup mostly fits what I'm looking for. The issue that I have is with the bumper and that's because I can't seem to find a skid plate to go along with it. I have a 2013 JKU Rubicon, so I would like to protect the sway bar.

I'm not completely sold on the bumper, although I like what I've seen so far. I think I am pretty sold on the winch, however. What I need is a full length bumper that has a clean look. The Warn seems to do the trick...

I also think this one has a clean look, but it's a bit more pricey...

Finally, I think the XRC M.O.D. bumper looks decent and of course the price is good, but there's always the whole, "shittybuilt" comments which make me think that it's not the greatest quality.

What I'm looking at right now is a deal on Quadratec that has the Warn Series Elite bumper, Zeon 10S winch, and wireless remote packaged for $1933.57 plus $24.99 shipping surcharge, which is a pretty good deal in itself. On top of that, they offer a 5% military discount as well, so that would bring it down to $1837 + $24.99.

I think, ideally I would like to go with this setup and find a way to get a skid plate on there to protect the goods up front. If anyone has any suggestions, either with a different bumper or with a skid plate that can be used with the Warn bumper, that would be great. Thanks for the input!

AEV. Pricey but well worth it.

Good call on this. I contacted Quadratec and they said it would be compatible with the Warn bumper. Do you have any pics of it on your Jeep?

Still open to other ideas!!

That AEV looks real nice!! Do you have any pics of the skid plate on your Jeep? Q-tec website says Zeon winch not compatible... but you have it, so it must be, right?

Hanson Offroad makes a substantial full width, (as well as mid & stub), with a hefty lower skid and it probably weighs less. Those Warn bumpers are about 115 lbs.

Have you looked at our new Vanguard Front?

JcrOffroad, Inc. JK Wrangler Vanguard Full Width Front Winch Bumper

We also have a lower skid available:
JcrOffroad, Inc. JK Wrangler Front Lower Bumper Skid (Vanguard, Crusader, Mauler)

Be careful! Not all bumpers will fit the new Zeon. Buy an American Made product, in the end you will be WAAAAAY happier!

I have looked at your bumper. I like it, it looks sharp, but I'm hesitant to have to paint something myself. 1. I live on a military base and don't have a place to be spraying paint and 2. I see that not turning out well if I try it myself. Otherwise, the bumper and skid plate look awesome!!

In a few weeks, we'll have a coating option available.

A lot of people have been happy with the Barricade Trail Force HD Front Bumper and Barricade Front Skid Plate.

I think they have a pretty clean and they'll come in quite a bit under your current budget. The bumper is all ready to receive the Warn Zeon 10S you were looking for. Let me know if you'd like a quote!

The price looks right on this and it does have a clean look, but it doesn't really look like a full width bumper.

Will there be an added cost? If so, do you know how much it will be?

Yes, this will be added cost. We are still trying to figure out pricing with our powder coater. I'd guess in the $150-200 range, but I won't know for another 4-5 days.

Hmm... I like that option as opposed to doing it myself, but it's already at the top and cresting over my budget lol

Don't think I'll be pulling the trigger right away, so I'll be curious to see what the final pricing is.

Does anyone have the JCR Vanguard with the skid plate installed? Would love to see some pics... Or just some more pics of the Vanguard on other Jeeps.

I'd love a quote on that as well.

Sub'd this thread as me and the OP are looking at exactly the same setup, so I'm curious how things go here.

Brain - can you PM me a quote? I'll assume $200 for the coating.

I'm happy with my Elite but that JCR Vanguard looks good too.. plus you can get a skid for it.

I am trying to save up a couple hundred more dollars before I pull the trigger on the JCR Vanguard bumper and skid plate. After much research over the past couple of months - I am liking this one most.

If you don't have the means to paint it yourself - take it to a body shop and have them do it!

I think I'm going to have to do some painting... or find someone to do it. I was trying to avoid that, but this really is the best looking bumper (for my taste). Plus, the skid plate is solid looking as well.
