Question Burning Rubber Smell Form AC Vent

I started to get an on again off again burning rubber smell from the A/C vent on my 2007 JKU. A/C does not need to be on just the fan and I still get the smell.
I looked under the hood and found the power lead for the winch rubbing on what I think is the power steering pump. It had melted the wire loom sheath but did not go through the insulation of the cable. I repaired the loom and relocated it so it does not touch anything hot. Started her up and still got a bit of the smell. It did go away but not convinced this was the cause.
Any ideas?

Stop bouncing the jeep off the rev limiter and dumping the clutch lmao. Just kidding. It might be a residual stench that just need to work out now that it is repaired. Just my thought.
