Buying a 2 door 2008 JK today...reliability issues I need to know?

New to the JK, but found an '08 2 door X package with soft top and soft upper doors...the only way my wife and I will own a jeep...and was wondering about the engine and tranny issues everyone complains about (overheating mainly). A

Anyone out there shed some light on this for me...this is a big change, since I'm trading my 1972 CJ5 with factory V8 and my wife's 1997 TJ for this jeep!

Here is a pic of it:

Is this an auto or 6 speed?

But no, you wont have issues with it. Its a good motor overall.

Automatic. About 55,000 miles. I can't beat the deal. My wife wants to upgrade the TJ, and this is gonna cost me only $10,700 when it's all said and done...can't pass it up. It has everything we want, I just lose my CJ...this will be a mostly daily-road driver.

Thanks for the quick reply!

To be safe, add a tranny cooler.

That's a damn good deal. You will be very happy with how the JK drives compare to the CJ. Its a big step up!.

Plus its very easy to fit bigger tires stock
