2011 Jeep

I have been looking for the past few months at buying a wrangler and I think I have came across the one I want to purchase. Its a 2011 orange 2-door automatic sport with 44,000 miles. My only concern is that it was a rental but than was sold at auction to a dealership and bought by someone that only kept it for 5 months! Here is the link to the jeep 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport, $18,950 - Cars.com
it also includes the carfax! Thank you for any of your responses :worthy:

If the carfax indicates that it was a rental, then I would not buy it!!!!!!!!!!

The odds are that somebody rented it, and beat the hell out of it, at sometime in its life.........

Check car gurus, craigslist, and the auto truck trader websites!
Take your time, and you will find the right one!!!!

I have a 2010 with 59,000 miles and not a single problem (yet).
It is the sport model like yours but, I have a 6 speed instead of the automatic.
The new 3.6 IS a stronger motor but, you honestly are not going to feel that when you are in 4 LO and off road.
where the 3.6 really shines in on the highway.
I am really liking that color combination.
As someone else mentioned, the Jeep is about a FEELING more then anything else.

A few thoughts. I've looked at 2 Hawaii rentals in person, found a fair amount of rust on them.

This vehicle wasn't used as a rental for 5 miles, it was brought into service at 5 miles then sent to auction at 37,353. I'd be a bit alarmed by the fact it was only out for personal use for a few months, very well could have a problem and the owner just wanted to get rid of it.

I bought a used 2011 and I'm very happy with it, power is just fine for my driving style. But I'd be very leary of a rental.

Here is another, similar thread, pay attention to the post by MJCT208 who works for Enterprise... http://www.wranglerforum.com/f274/2011-jk-auto-was-a-rental-864730.html

rgone, you are in a great state for buying new jeeps. There are several dealers here who will give you up to 5% below invoice.

Have you looked at the cost of buying a stripped Sport? When you combine the price and the warranty you get on a brand new jeep, it may be worth it to you.

I'm new to Texas, so I'm not sure where Frisco is, but if you'd like some dealership names in Austin/Houston, just send me a PM.

Good luck! :)
