Buying a freedom top

Can anyone suggest the best place to buy a freedom top for a 2008 2dr jk at a reasonable price? Thanks.

Craigslist. I haven't seen many vendors selling them at "reasonable" prices - they're just expensive aftermarket. I'd poke around on Craigslist and see if anyone is offloading theirs. You can actually use a freedom top from any 2-door JK (07-12 at least, I assume 13 as well), you'll just need to make sure to get the wiring/hookup for the wiper if you don't have it stock.

Brand new hard tops are selling for $1,110 to $1,300 online from places like moparpartsamerica.com and moparonlineparts.com. So you should be able to pick up a used one from craigslist for under $900 I would think.

I got mine off craigslist for $500 and it was missing the panels so I found them in a salvage yard. The top needed some touch-up but I was OK with that.

My favorite quote from the press release.. sad but true: "Chrysler claims its products, especially the Jeeps, can handle all sorts of terrible conditions, churning through muddy swamps, climbing mountains, and crossing rivers. Turns out they cannot even handle a car wash."

I bought mine for $1000 new from a dealer but that was when there was a 10 month back order on them. I bought a second one a few months later used on Craigslist in great condition for $500. I drove 2 hrs each way to get it but it was a great price and my buddy wanted one

Thanks much guys! I will continue to look, however I may have decided on a lift instead of a hardtop!

If you are looking on Craigslist jeep looking a couple times a week. Also try the local offroad shops. Sometimes they have leads
