Well my first rain storm, and I mean storm with small hail with my Trektop with the windows removed.

My solution was to carry the duster cover for the rear deck instead of the windows and it worked just fine. To get the duster own, I had to move the rear straps to attach right behind the rear roll bar right were the duster has a gap to wrap around the bar. It actually makes the top tighter when it's attached there. I had a lot less flapping of the Safari top after moving it back and pulling it tight there. And yes I didn't get wet and the Jepp didn't either except for the roll bar getting wet and a tad bit a dampness leaked past where the duster wraps the roll bar but nothing to worry about. It did great. I did have to pull under cover for the hail though. Here's a pic

I wish Geoff still checked in. I have a suggestion. I need a little wrap that attached to the down side of the door surround and wraps around the roll bar. It would be perfect for the windjammer also or without to stop the small possible leak around the base where the door surround meets the duster.

Trektop arrived today and it is a modest 35 and snowing outside. Sigh. No intall this weekend and the next 10 days isn't looking very warm. I guess I'll go build the hard top rack and wait.

If you have a garage, just blast the heat.

I was told a few weeks ago by several vendors December. You can still find them in stock on ebay but higher prices. Looks like next year for me to try one!

I just placed an order with one company who offers free shipping via the web. If I find out it's out of stock I'll keep trying. I've been waiting for two years to get a trektop because I didn't have a garage. Now I'm moving into our new home next week (huge 2-car garage) where I'll have somewhere to put the hard top and if these things go out of stock I'll be super bummed.

I heard on this forum possibly December also. If this is true then I'm thinking of running a bikini top for the summer and putting the HT back on for rainy days. But this would be a PITA and I would like to avoid it. Freakn bestop better get heir acts together!

I'd cancel my order but I really dont have a solid plan B.

I'd leave it open. My guess is that they will only ship partial stock orders when they do ship, most places are FIFO so the early orders will get fulfilled first.

That's what I did, ordered mine almost a month ago. I was told then that they except it to be around 6 weeks until they got more in. I have called around and have gotten different dates, I think its best to stay with my current order. I may not get it until after this summer but that's what I get for waiting so long to order.

I ordered mine with Quadratec on the 05/09/12 and wished the website would have told me it wasn't in stock before I made the purchase. I was hoping to have it by Memorial day weekend next weekend but looks like I'll be out of luck.

Same problem here. It drove me nuts for 2 days as I couldn't figure out why Sirius worked in the mornings but not after work. Duh!

Has anyone else had this and figured out a solution?

Looking at getting one of these tops. Anyone buy any lately? If so, from where and how much? Was it in stock?

Thanks!

I bought mine at Quadratec.
Installed it this past weekend and I really like the looks of it.
I was zipping up the zippers on the windows within 45 minutes then tragedy struck.
The latches didn't reach.
I had done enough reading to know that this was probably going to happen.
I undid the zippers and pulled and beat until I could hook the latches up front.
I finally got the courage up today to take the windows out and fd the front back.
We're supposed to get some more rain tomorrow so I put everything back and it went on without a hitch.
Once it stretches out there are no problems.
No leaks and no flapping while everything is buttoned up.
I only have one question.
When you flip it back in the sunrider position are there no straps to tie it down?

Correct. Nothing is needed to hold this sun rider position in place. You can drive down the highway and it won't move. Go give it a try!

Does anyone have this top that has their tub lineX'ed? The reason i ask is mine is sprayed up and over the top rail. There is still the factory lip, just wanted to see how the windows fit down into the rail.

Thanks

The Trektop NX is my "next purchase" item (this Spring). I too have been researching quite a bit! The Jeep Doctor on Youtube has a six month review at the following link:

It's one of the reasons that I've decided to go with this particular top. I'll most likely go through Quadratec for the following reasons:
1) I like their people (very knowledgable, patient, and helpful)
2) They will price match
3) FREE Shipping for Forum Members

Hope this helps

I have one for my JKU...love it, but only used it last year for 3 months, but haven't been able to bring it out since I relocated to DC. i don't have a place to put my hard top. So, I am going to be off-loading mine and buy a new soft top in a few years when we get stationed overseas. I am waiting to get to the official 15 posts before I offer to sell it through the boards...

I have had mine for 1 1/2 half now , still love it no leaks and the noise is still low

I guess my biggest issue is just like any soft top is over time it fades and the stains are there for like

I was looking to get the Quadratec replacement top, but now I'm leaning more twards the Trektop NX. My only question, do the door surrounds need to stay in, or does that portion of the top secure another way for while doorless and just the safari top?
