Hello all.
This dealer is offering me a really good price on a Manual '13 JK 23B. Is a very basic model.
When time comes, I'll need to go a pick up the car. I want to know which potential known issues would make me drive back to the dealer so I can check them when pick it up. So far I know about:
Heating issue (too cold)
Missing Skid plate
Gurgling sound from behind the dashboard
Leaks from top

Anything else I should be aware of?
Thanks!

What model? Check if it supposed to come with the new super soft top or not, someone on your East Coast was supposed to get it and now fighting with Chrysler, if it's a dual top, open the soft top cover in the back and check. Don't sign off until that's verified. As mentioned you can take it to any dealer for service/repairs. Not even sure if the service depts system even says what cars are sold by them, other than the plate holder.

You should of course give it a thorough "look over"--once you take delivery, it's very difficult to "return" a new vehicle.

As noted--in the United States--your Chrysler warranty is good in any Chrysler dealership in the US. You list your location as Calgary, however, so you may want to check on that rule for issues that arise from sales North of the border.

I'd go to jeep's website and download a copy of the 2013 warranty manual for Canada, presuming that your IP address brings you to the Canadian Jeep site. The warranty manuals in the States are pretty short and state very clearly that warranty service can be obtained at any authorized dealer. I'd imagine the Canadian warranty manual would say the same.

Will be a hard top, that's the only upgrade along with a 3.73.
Local dealers were not willing to sell for that price. Generally everything is more expensive in Calgary, so I guess they have higher costs here.
I also learned about the head problem on Pentastars... so...
  • Heating issue (too cold)
  • Missing Skid plate
  • Gurgling sound from behind the dashboard
  • Leaks from top
  • Pentastar Head ticking
Anything else?

About the warranty, I was able to get the manual from chrysler.ca, this is what it says:
WARRANTY SERVICE
Warranty service must be done by an authorized Chrysler or Dodge Retailer. We recommend that you return to your selling retailer for this service; however, you may request warranty service for your vehicle from any Chrysler Retailer. See “How to get service” on page 8.
So, seems like I won't need to spend 6 hours if the JK has an issue.
Thanks all!

I though so too... but they were so reluctant to go that low that I really think I'm getting "the deal". The haven't confirm the order yet so I don't want to publish my price.

Yup, I asked them my absoulte total cost including freight, tax, fees, comissions, cuts, etc. That's the only way I could compare.
If they want to charge me a dolar more, I just walk out.

The dealer I bought mine from has a terrible service department, they are almost unable to fix anything. I have all my warranty work done at another dealership with a great service department. This type of thing happens all the time here. Get the best deal you can and have it serviced at any jeep dealership you want.
