Alright so im settled on the Rubicon Express 2.5" lift with the monotube shocks. Ive been scratching my head wondering between this kit and the teraflex for ages now. So i finally called each of them and simply said why is yours better. And rubicon express sold me. Their shocks are just re labeled bilstein 5100's specially tuned for their springs. Which ive heard great things about. Along with that their headquarters is an hour away from the rubicon trail, where they test their products. Although i love teraflexs informative videos and customer service. The RE kit just spoke to me, and the salesman really made the deal. Will be ordering as soon as i get paid!
I wish I would have known this information last week! I just ordered this lift, but I opted to get Rancho 7000 monotube shocks instead because I figured the Rubicon Express shocks were rebranded junk.
This is a great lift kit. I replaced the factory bumpers with much heavier bumpers also added winch and side steps and it holds great, I didn't noticed any drop at all.

mine should be in this week. if it comes mon or tues, i'll take a day off to install it. if it comes wed, thurs, or friday...i'll have this weekend to do it. my bank acct is recuperating slowly, but i'm already looking into my next mod whatever that may be.
I don't mean to HiJack but I had a RE 5.5" Extreme LA lift on my 2006 LJ (Before all the problems RE had) and the lift was excellent! Rubicon Express seems to have come back from their little hiccup and seems to be making quality products again. I am so glad that they are doing better and I hope the best for you with your new RE lift when you get it!
thanks. My buddy who really got me into the scene with a prerunner setup has a 99 XJ w/ 6.5 in coils at 300 spring rate. bump stops, high steer track bar w/ RE quick disco w/ ball n pivot hem joints all around. Custom RE Long arm kit w/ transfer case (upgraded diameter of the tubes to handle the whoops). Race runner coil over reservoirs w/ nitrogen and hydrogen gas set at 75psi compression and 45 rebound. Gives 18 in of travel in all 4. all it needs is roll bar 8 point Don and fuel cell.
That RE kit can handle 100db of me screaming at the passenger seat doing 120mph jumps. if the long arm can handle that kind of abuse, i feel confident that it will be more than enough for my JK
update...i just called 4wp to check status on my order. they said my jks quick disco's are in, as well as my exhaust spacers. the RE 2.5 will take a another week or two to come in. i shouldve ordered from one of our vendors. i waited a month for my last kit that i ordered from 4wp but that was with free install.
Love it! Rides better (tires may also help) and so far seems to be a quality product. I went with the aftermarket exhaust pipe in place of a spacer.. And added stainless steel brake line extensions for piece of mind. Love it though very pleased.
i can't wait to get mine too. I have 1 more wheeling session this week on stock suspension and have to take the easy routes until mine arrives.
