This bumper is perfect! I want it! Lol

Wow. That isn't exactly the same but that looks great too. It says w/ Winch mount, i'm assuming it doesnt come with the winch. Lol.

Thanks I will definitely look into that bumper.

Aev

According to my dealer. The MOPAR bumper currently listed will not fit 2012. MOPAR is however, releasing a PREMIUM bumper ($1,500) that will be available early in November. I believe this bumper is the AEV Premium bumper. It is killer. I am waiting to see what it looks like, the dealer had a listing, but no pic.

As far as I am aware it is the AEV premium bumper, the same one I purchased and installed on my own, not a hard job. Premium bumper with winch mount $1500.00 give or take.

That expensive bumper is the one that is on the COD. As TRubicon stated, it's the AEV premium bumper without the bull bar.

EDIT: Bulldawgs nailed it. Pic and all.

If I was going to buy an aftermarket bumper, I would probably go stubby. Better clearance for articulation and less weight, plus it just looks more utilitarian, which I like my Jeeps to look. It's the reason why I love black wheels/roof/fenders/bumpers and flat paint.

The MW3 AEV version bumper will be released for sale, but a date has not been given. We are anticipating availability following the SEMA show. Currently, we have the AEV MILSPEC front bumper and the AEV Premium front bumper available.

The MILSPEC bumper is being discontinued though , and I only have 2 left in stock.

It is just me or does the bull bar on the MW3 have a lower profile then all the other bumpers shown?

Those are the first pictures I've seen of that contoured hood.

It's hard to tell, but it sure looks as if it will hold water -- a puddle will build up in it if it's out in the rain. And then, of course, it'll freeze and sit there until the engine warms up the hood enough to melt it, at which point all the ice will slide back into the windshield.

At freeway speeds, that could be exciting.

What's the purpose of that hood, anyway? I was thinking it would be vented or something. Except for the bumper, it looks like the COD package is just pseudo-military bling. HPH

I have the Mopar premium front bumper (COD) on order from my dealer. I like it. With the discount I worked out on accessories pre purchase, it is actually a little cheaper than the AEV Premium bumper, but does not come with a bull bar.

I skipped/passed on the new rear bumper (the AEV), because Mopar version does not come drilled for rear tire carrier and when all is said and done, if you want that bumper with a spare carrier, you are better off going with the AEV branded product.

The AEV heat reduction hood that the new COD hood is based on, was shaped like that to clear a Hemi transplant. It also had mesh vents. Good thinking by Dr Cloud on what the new hood will do in winter.

Good eye Dr. CLoud.... here's another scenario.... the piece melts enough as you say to slide towards the windshield.... freeway speeds causing air-lift send it to gliding up the windshield and off.... becoming (in parts or whole) a missile headed for the auto behind you....

Since everyone seems to tailgate me on the interstates, because I set the cruise at 65 MPH, that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

I noticed because I had a lip (rear) spoiler that did that -- puddle water, then freeze. Didn't bother me when it broke loose, of course, but I did notice some folks backing off my rear bumper after it did. HPH

Who in their right mind would buy a $1500 or a $45,000 jeep. That's insanity.

seriously? You guys have never seen these AEV aftermarket products? The hood is missing all the vents that would normally help cool down the engine. If you think the front bumper is pricey, the rear bumper with tire carrier is more that that. Tire carrier will swing ways with the tailgate as one piece and the bumper holds water so you can set up a shower.

I don't need a shower. That just sounds like useless weight to me. I go on 14 day treks. It's called a creek. And I can build a jeep that will go just as far as that for way less than $45k. I mean more power to yah if you have that kinda coin, if I replace the xk it will be with a nice sahara or rubicon. Bc it wont leave pavement. My Tj is my toy. Xk's a dd.

I was just saying that AEV has been around for a while and eveyone in this thread seems surprised about what they see. I think the water tank in the bumper is a bit much also, but it's nice someone thought about it.

Please don't buy a Rubicon and never take her off road.
