Can 2013 JK with keyless entry be setup to drop all windows by holding unlock button?

this is a feature i REALLY miss. my old 94 nissan maxima did this and a lot of cars now do (its funny many people don't know). anyway, can this be setup so as i am walking to my car and unlocking the doors i can hold the button and drop all windows?

I haven't seen any info on this. Would be nice though, my 08 Audi had this functionality.

i don't think so. Its a little known-about feature on some modern cars but not on the wrangler. There was a list of said vehicles on a yahoo article last month, I'll try to find it.

edit: here ya go.

My wife's mini even pops open the sunroof.

I tried this the minute I got the JK and it just doesn't do it.

yea, maybe someone with a 2013 can chime in.

"The trick usually involves pressing the remote's unlock button, releasing it, then pressing it again and holding it down. In some cars, instead of using the remote, you can insert your key in the door lock and turn it clockwise, release, then turn it clockwise again and hold. Turning the key counterclockwise will usually raise the windows back up."

Maybe the lack of this function is a gentle nudge to just doing the "naked" thing...that Wranglers do best...

well I remember something like this that came out for my previous car and I was thinking about getting it... If someone is able to find the wiring diagram for the JK I willing to bet you could cut the ends off this harness and tap into the factory wiring and maybe just maybe the signal from our remote would function to lower an raise the windows using this relay found here

Shark Racing

since that is made for a sonata (like I said my previous car) It might not work, maybe a google search will come up with a module or relay setup that will allow this to work.

This is dangerous and now you guys have me interested in building a relay system that can respond to a push button that will roll all four windows down and push it again and they roll up, I'm good with relays and once I find a remote activated relay switch I know I can put something together.

The viper window automation system only works if you already have their alarm system or remote, I bet I could come up with a simpler way and it would be cheaper. the only down side I can see is there would probably have to be a keyfob that you have to carry...

i wonder if you could get those flip out keys that have 4 buttons and use the 4th one to drop the windows (provided you don't have remote start). whatever you build it would have to be super small to fit in those flip keys. this could be a good project for my arduino.

There used to be some aftermarket remote controlled door locks that come to mind. Maybe some smart cookie could convert one of those, if they still make them. But, like yousaid in another post, it would take another keyfob for sure.

Correct, from what I've found with some searching it is doable but would require a stand alone remote, And also since most add on systems only have 2 aux channels it might mean that there will have to be 2 remotes for the JKU owners. Whether the remote(s) is put on the key or just carried in the pocket for the hot days when you know dropping the windows will be done that is up to the owner.

It does seem to be tougher then expected since I will need multiple modules and also there will be splicing into the factory wiring which I know alot of people are not fond of (myself Included)

I know its doable but with what I'm finding I am now doubting I will worry with designing a system to do this. when it's warm or hot out the top is almost always down or the doors are off so having the luxury to remotely drop the windows is not needed for me.

My suggestion to those who want this feature is to either call or pull into a local car alarm or mobile audio store and discuss it with them, they have most of the necessary products in stock. They would be able to give you an estimate of what it would cost to do this and then you can decide if the feature is worth it.

Best of luck with getting this feature added to your Jeep and keep this thread updated if you decide to move forward with it!

-Drew
