so this rather nice looking rubi is sitting at a dealership down the road from my house and I was thinking of taking it for a test drive and possibly talking to them about trading in my 2007 unlimited X.
The only thing stopping me is that it has 8K more miles on it than my current jeep and it seems kind of odd that its already been passed down through 3 separate owners in its short life. Makes me wonder what sort of issues it may have?
Looks like it was actually a 4 owner vehicle. Doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong with it though. Ask them if you can do an overnight test drive and that way you can drive it a while and maybe bring to a mechanic that you know.

There are a lot of people who bought an 11 and later found out that they could trade up to a newer model with a better motor. Not saying this is the case 4 times with this jeep but it could explain one of the times. Kinda fishy if it has changed hands that much in 2 years.
I'm here to participate. I didnt come all this way just to watch.
The only things I see that could affect the sale would be it's a manual (nothing wrong there but it can affect the sale as some people need/prefer auto), and it has the 3.8, which some people traded in for the new engine, and some don't want to buy because they want the new engine.
Looks like it's in good condition overall, no recalls or warranty work was done.
I would just be suspicious simply because it has had that many owners in a short time. How many jeeps have that many owners in 5 years. Plus it has more miles than your current jeep. Trust your gut instinct that there is something wrong. You don't want to test drive it, like it, buy it, then a hundred miles later... Discover what the previous owners realized.
Seems a bit odd. Owner 1 had it for about a year, got out of it with low miles at 14k, then year later its got 47k on it - somebody did some serious driving. The 3rd owner seems to be an error, there were only 5 miles between owner 2 and owner 4, owner 4 then put 7k on it in 4 months.
I'd talk with the dealer see what they know, if they bought it at Auction it's anybody's guess though.
Thanks for the advice everyone! If I end up taking it for a drive I'm going to also test drive a 2012 or 2013 model as well just to see which variation I like better.
May not want to do that seriously the new motor IS that much better.....I drove an '11 and than drove a '12......not to take anything away from this Jeep...but there is a lot of difference..and if you think you like this one....well a new one won't leave you with as much MOD money and this could be MODDED cheaper the way you want...now I am confusing myself...bottom line if YOU want it and it is good BUY IT!!!
I question the 2nd owner. If you knew you had to do that much driving, 32,500 miles in 9 months, why would you choose a Jeep Wrangler? Maybe that is why they got rid of it? Then last owner didn't have it very long. Strange. However, there might be a very reasonable explanation. When I bought my jeep, I had similar questions. 3 years old, 2 owners, but somebody put over 12k in mods on it. Why would somebody put that much money into mods then get rid of it? Then I stumbled on owner 2 and it all made sense.
There is probably a reasonable explanation behind Mango Tango but it seems odd on the surface.
I drive a JKUR. Everywhere I look I see places I want to drive up, over, or through.
I really wasn't even seriously considering a new(er) vehicle this year until I saw this one and really liked the look and the fact that it's a manual with a lot of the options I was looking for when I bought my sport 3 years ago.
I may drive it this weekend just to see how I like it versus what I have but more than likely I'll plan on keeping the rescue green 4-door I have now and building it out the way I want it eventually.
