Can not get Freedom top back on

Seems simple enough... bought a new Jeep Last month and took the Freedom top off yesterday... As i went to put it back on today (following instructions from both Jeep and on line..) neither way would allow me to actually connect the visor latch(s)... it just wont reach to actually hook in.... the peg is in the hole and the roof all lines up nice.. but for whatever reason the latches don't reach. anyone ever seen this?
thx
B

The latch doesn't fully go under the part by the visor. It feels more like it's wedged onto it rather than the way you'd see a regular lock. Does that help?

+1, you're trying too hard

The soft top grabs and latches, the hard top just pushes against it to create pressure.

Remember, over compressed gaskets are a bad thing, don't try to swoosh it down. Contrary to what others might have you believe, it does great if you seat it gently and properly (especially the gasket between the two panels, near theback end it has a weird extra round piece, be sure to seat these gaskets properly......) it won't leak. Just like a compression plumbing fitting, kill it and it will leak likea sieve.

did the same thing with mine a few months ago when new. kept trying to get the latch to go flush forward. seems like it has to go forward more, but I finally figured it out after taking the top off several times. when latched, it feels incomplete...

Thanks for posting. Now I don't feel like a fool for thinking the same thing this weekend when I took mine off.

First time Jeep owner and it was my 5th day with it.

I was in the same boat earlier today. It felt like it was not on correct. I took them off again and reinstalled thinking I did something wrong and it did it again so I figured that is the way it goes.

First time Jeep owner also. Also the first time taking the freedom top off.

If you put the passenger side down FIRST and the alignment pin is fully engaged and it doesn't leak and it looks balanced/level from the front/side--and you didn't tighten the thumbscrews first and you don't hear wind whistle--

The important ones are no leak/no whistle-
