Can U Add a Standard Lift to a Budget Lift?

Well as I have stated in other posts I am completely new to this Jeep thing. I am wanting to get this Jeep in the air as soon as possible. But until I finish my Mustang, most of my spare money is tied up in that.

So my question is if you get the "hockey puck" budget lift, and later get the springs and shocks with a standard lift, can you add the two. The budget lift is 2" and the Skyjacker standard lift is 2.5". If I can add the two is that roughly 4-4.5" total lift? or are you not suppose to mix the two?
Would 4" be to much for an otherwise standard Jeep and require longer control arms, steering shaft, and so forth?

This is and will be a DD for the next couple years, so I don't want to bruise my arse every time I drive.

Thanks for any imput.

I would say to do it right the first time. A 2.5 inch coil lift is not that bad in price. With shock adapters, you could use your stock shocks. Teraflex makes a good selection of lifts from budget boosts on up at a great price. Also with the 2.5 you will be able to get 35's if you so choose.

Man, oh man......you are getting the lift itch very soon, huh?
Surprised if you even got 100 miles on that JK yet....... :D

I would seriously consider what you want to have long-term and do it right the first time.
I really think that as a DD, a 2.5" lift will allow you the most flexible options unless you are really ready to go all out. Remember that the higher you go, the more adjustments, such as drive shaft, link & suspension --- you will need to make to handle the increase.
I am going to get the 2.5 Teraflex work done soon, but it is a hugely popular mod.

Best of luck.

I have about 70 miles on her and I received my first :wavey: today.

Yeah after seeing one identical to mine on the showroom with the lift and wheels I can not wait. Only difference was the 23S package...Oh and the $5K wanted for American Racing wheels, BFG MT's, and a 2.5 Skyjacker lift. Even the manager stated, "It takes a dumbass to buy it from us that way, but the owner makes me do it."

Congrats on the first Jeep wave :)
Personally, I've been debating the lift ceaselessly for the past couple weeks. I'm leaning towards doing the TF 2.5" BB with shocks and adding swaybar disco's.
If that doesn't cure the itch (no cream for it yet either :(), I'm only about an hour away from Rock Krawler :)
Just put on my 33's- they don't rub in daily driving, which is sweet, BUT I ordered spacers anyway, to be safe :) I just want a LITTLE lift for the time being (and since it's the fiancee's car, a monster long-arm is out of the question :)), and she seems happy with the 33's, as am I. Maybe when the budget expands I'll go big and go 35", but for now, happy monkey!
Going to add the BB simply for off-roading, so I can install and use disco's. Rausch Creek and we two have a meeting in the future :) Mark W.
