I have had my Freedom Edition Unlimited for about 1 month now and I have grown to hate the stock speakers. I ordered the replacement Kicker speakers for the dash and they will be in the weekend. Next month, I will replace the speakers in the sound bar with the same Kicker speakers. When I have the roof off I turn up the radio and the speakers distort very badly. And, I have to keep the fade turned mostly to the front of the front speakers will cut out constantly, which is why I am replacing those first. Hopefully the new speakers will solve my problems.
I installed the Kicker speakers in the dash today and they are a huge improvement over stock. I bought them new on EBay for $72 (for a pair). In a few months I will replace the speakers in the sound bar too. These speakers were somewhat easy to install because they did not require special adapters or wire harnesses.
My Wrangler is a 2013 but I actually bought it used. The previous owner had and after market Pioneer radio / navigation system installed. It also has the Alpine factory subwoofer so I guess the Jeep has the Alpine sound system.
There are many posts on this forum about sound upgrades for the Jeep. The original speakers are 2 ohm and if you just replace them with other 2 ohm speakers, there won't be much of an improvement. I replaced all my speakers with 4 ohms speakers along with a sub, an amp, Loc and PAC and it is awesome. For me, that is the only way to upgrade the system IMHO.
