I can understand you wanting to get your color of choice, but you are obsessed with getting these half doors and your making your buying experience into a nightmare.
Calm down, because life is just too short and try to enjoy your search for your new ride!

This guy is nuts. 27k is not a lot for a vehicle so stop whining and acting like a high school girl. Pay for what you want or don't get it. That simple. FYI any dealer can order you the half doors and add them into financing and just so you know, OEM stock half doors leak too trust me so will your top so get over it or buy something else. It's people like this that have heart attacks at 35 cause they stress about nothing

You've waited this long, so it seems like the most logical thing to do would be to wait a little longer and see what's available for '14. I hear what you're saying about not settling though, it's the reason we had to go to a dealer four hundred miles away to buy a loaded Sahara Tan Sahara. Since you said that you liked Deep Cherry Red and Dozer, you might also like Copperhead or Bright Amber in '14 too, if they come to fruition. Here's a WF thread link to the possible 2014 color samples.

This statement actually made me laugh out loud. If you're under the impression that OEM doors don't have the propensity to leak, you might be in for a big carpet soaking surprise in the future,....just sayin'!

Here you go:

dozer
sport
3.73 gear
anti slip
deep tint

dual top though. you need to employ your negotiating skills here, either grab it and deal with this half-doors after the fact (i.e. sell the hard top and full doors on your own), or explain to this dealer you want it without the hard top and full doors and can they paint and install the half doors and deduct the cost of the full doors and hard top from the vehicle price.

You have to make it happen, since you cannot order this color and the configuration you want anymore. Your key elements are right there for the grabbing: dozer, 3.73, anti-slip.

You're going to have to buy used or find a 2012 on the lot that hasn't been sold yet. And options are going to be limited. Gears and doors can be done after the fact. And I very much doubt 2014 is going to reintroduce any of the 3 colors you want. The only other option is to order what you want and have it repainted...which is going to cost a lot more than half doors and gears combined if you want a decent paint job.

Honestly, my wife is probably supremely grateful that best, most superior look at me Jeep color of all time was done before we purchased - It still makes me a little wistful every time I see one of the seemingly rare Detonator Yellow JKs. Yes, indeed, quite a shame I missed out on that.

Local dealership has a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon SUV in Dozer, been watching them past few weeks as they moved them to the front row and that row is getting pretty small.

The fact is that none of the arguing matters.

Nothing about "I'm paying $27k . . ." blah blah blah actually means anything.

The options are in fact limited. There is no moral or ethical aspect to it. Options are limited and that's that.

They are:

(1) Chose another color that is currently being produced, and order what you want in that color;

(2) Pick up the closest Dozer you can find now, and pay to get it to where you want it aftermarket. Order OEM half doors, etc.;

(3) Wait until next year to see if another color suits you and order what you want then; or

(4) Don't get a wrangler.

That's it.

Right, wrong, fair, not fair, reasonable for $25k+ or not, whatever. Those are the choices. Period.

If it was me . . . I'd go with the color I wanted and then mod aftermarket to get the features I want. OEM half doors are spendy, but cest la vie. That's the only path to actually achieve exactly what you want, so that's what I'd do. JMHO.

Dude, you can always get window tint done at a third party vendor. Takes about 2 hours. Unless you are talking about tinted soft tops and I'm sure you can order those from Quadratec.

Where are you having them painted? Can you order them from the factory in matching color?

I am talking about tinted everything. Soft doors and soft top.

I will just wait for the 2014s. The only colors available for order now are rock lobster, billet silver, daisy duke (white), commando, and true blue. None of those do it for me. Dune would have been a possibility, as would crush, but oh well. I don't need the car, my truck still runs, so I'll just wait and have more money to put down on it in a few months.

I don't think tinted soft upper doors were ever an option. I've never seen them offered anywhere.

Well, I don't know, since I've never seen half doors in person on a JK. But deep tint at the very least has the soft top's windows tinted, I just figured the front windows would be too.

Charles.
