I have it priced at $19,100 ... I thought was a fair price.. I guess I could be wrong! Thanks for the help

It is not an unlimited, it is a 2DR. Try looking at what they are going for around you.

Nice jeep.

I think the problem you're having is that you can buy a new one ('14 softtop/2 door) for around 22K. Makes it hard to pay 19K for an older one.

Typically. Everyone thinks there jeep is worth a small fortune, then wonder why they can't sell it. Looks like you are going to have to come off that price a lot OP

You asking price is too high. You are getting into "new" money. Someone would be better off spending the extra $5000 and getting the new engine with a full warranty.

Yeah, from someone who was in the same buying situation. I looked at older jeeps and the lower mile ones (under 50k) people wanted 17-20k for them which just isn't worth it considering the low cost of a brand new one with a much better motor.

I would go into craigslist and see what your competion is asking for theirs. It does vary from state to state, but it does sound like you are asking way too much for it!

The first problem is that you used Kelly Blue Book. They are always unrealistically high for both their trade-in and private sale values. Edmund's and NADA tend to be a bit more down to Earth with their pricing. If you take a used vehicle into a car dealership and expect them to pay give you Kelly's trade-in value, they'll laugh at you.

KBB told me 21,000
Nada told me 20,000
Edmunds told me 15,000

... how do you choose! I looked here online and most are right around what I am asking for.

Don't simply look at websites and reference books to price your vehicle. The local market also has a significant impact on what is popular and what is not, hence the pricing variations.

Example - Subarus are popular in Colorado, Alaska, and snowy climates and can command more value there than in San Diego or Florida. Likewise, if you want to sell a 1 ton truck, sell it in Texas, but not New York City. If you can't market them there, you'll have to lower your price, because while it may be worth X to you, the selling market sets the price.

Try posting on eBay...you'll reach a lot broader market. Set a reserve price and see what happens. Good luck!

Key word here is ASKING, asking and selling price are two different things.

15K unfortunately is realistic. The model year is 6 years old. You have a nice "base" X JK. I would ask 15,500. Then, you'll most likely sell it for 15. Maybe keep it and upgrade the wheels and tires.

I would expect to get around 19-20k for my 07 rubicon w/ 50k
Kelly last time I checked was at 25k

Agree with all that said the asking price is too high.

Edmunds has never failed me for accurate pricing...be honest when filling out the data and then pick the mid ground.

An ad can tell a lot to the buyer.

Mention in the ad that it has been serviced regularly by a competent mechanic, how it was used and stored, any accident history or lack thereof. Talk about the reason for selling. Detailed pictures of a freshly cleaned, armor alled and vacuumed interior also grab the buyers attention

Details and stories sell stuff....lay it out there. Make your ad stand out.

X2. To the OP you asked what the problem is and you have your answer. People can ASK whatever they want doesn't mean it will sell for that much. Lower your price if your serious about selling.

One other option you might look at is take it to a Carmax and see what they value it at. It's free to have them give you a quote and it might be a good place to start at reassessing your value. I know people have varying opinions about Carmax however can't hurt to see what they value it as well as another reference point.

It's worth that much in Puerto Rico, in 2008 a wrangler x was $30k. They are expensive here!

Good luck with the sale. Have you tried trading for the Jeep you want. It's possible to negotiate a deal

I had a good experience with Carmax, gave me a fair price for my 08 xterra I have been trying to sell on Craigslist. Sure I could get more private sale, but I haven't had much luck, now I am going to consolidate and sell the TJ and get a JKU

I was trying to help a friend buy one not long ago...and my guess is that you would get lot more bites for 17k. I doubt that you need to go much lower than that...but best bet is to check for comparables within an hour of where you live. Check out autotrader.

My guess is that Carmax will offer 11K. Their offers are ridiculously low....but it doesn't cost anything to try...other than your time.

This is exactly where I was. It made more sense to me to buy new since the price of used was so close. Good luck with your sale.

Unfortunately, you are just asking too much.

When I bought my 2010, I bought new, because the prices people were asking for used Jeeps were too high. In my mind, I couldn't justify spending 90% of the cost of a new Jeep with a warranty on a used one without a warranty.

It's worth whatever someone is willing to buy it for not what you or KBB or Edmunds or whomever think it's value is.

Yup. Phone around and ask sellers what they actually got for their Jeep, some will tell you some wont. It will in all likelihood be lower than what they asked.
