Care of Rubber Seals

What do you use to keep the rubber seals around hard top and other jeep areas to keep from drying and cracking?

Do you use anything special when storing the hard top for summer?

i dont have a hard top but i use armorall around the door rubbers and dash to keep the sun from drying it out and cracking. dissadvantage to armorall on dash is dust likes to collect. i live on a dirt road so i have to wipe dash a little more than normal.

The rubber hardtop seals are capable of lasting (as seals) for over 20 years, but

The MAIN degrading environmental effect on this extruded rubber is--SUN/HEAT/ULTRAVIOLET-

If you leave your HARD/SOFT tops off ALL SUMMER, without protection from the sun-their active life is severly diminished-

The hardtop seals don't NEED any treatment, other than protect from sun/don't subject them to any odd shape pressure/don't allow any oil (type) to stay AND BE SURE THE MATING SURFACES OF THE TOPS ARE CLEAN/DRY-

Vacuum and warm water wipedown, before reuse and they're fine--water leaks are at CORNERS/JOINTS that aren't properly mated/maintained/replaced !!

Simple-huh ??

Keep yer powder dry !

Thanks for the responses. I'm storing hard top in the garage, which will be hot this summer. Didn't know if there was something I should coat the seals with.
