For those of you who have the 2015+ JKU with the sub in the floor - if the sub is covered with a mat (no cut-out for the speaker) does the mat vibrate when there's nothing weighing it down? Thinking about the Husky mats but they are a bit pricey!
No "rattle" couldn't rattle - it's Rubber. I have the Mopar mat w/no cutout because that is what they had but, even if the one w/the cut-out had been available - I would have gotten the uninterrupted one.
I know about all the marketing and testing - My Jeep and just like my other speakers in cars and at home - I run speaker covers.
Anyway.
Does it sound "Exactly" the same? Pretty much but - No.
It muffles ever so slightly some of the low end articulation (what sounds like "Snap" or more correctly Mid-Bass Punch) Only A/B testing it will it show.
Not worth the dogs trampling the Sub screen and god knows what gets down in there. I'm not a Pig and I don't like my stuff dirty.
I'm with the poster above. I have the Sub but I think I want to get the fully covered mat because over time I know little crumbs will fall down in there and accumulate.
My question is does the sub protrude up enough that it looks bad when you put the full mat over it?
Mine doesn't at all. However, I have the full cargo mat laid over the stock carpet/rubber one with the cutout. There is a slight dip in the rubber mat over the sub, but I wouldn't say it looks bad or impedes the function of the floor in any way.
I have the sub and run the Quadratec all weather floor liner in the back that covers the sub. Keeps the crap from getting in the sub and doesn't do enough to the sound that I notice it.
Using the $65 Rugged Ridge cargo liner with no cut-outs for either the sub or rr seat mounts. If I'm hauling messy stuff I want full protection and minimal clean up.
