Cargo Nets and Safari Top

I am thinking of purchasing "Safari Straps, Warrior Long Cage Extended, Set With Side Windows". But from time to time I may want a little protection from the elements.

Would I be able to run "Bestop Header Safari Bikini-Windshield Channel Kit Black Diamond" over the top of the Safari Straps? or do I need to purchase just the Safari Straps Warrior Window Extended - 4 Door"?

Yes you could run the bikini top with the Safari Straps. In fact you can keep them on with your soft or hard top. I just throw up the soft top when caught in the rain and without doors and windows it's basically a bikini top.

Looking at my options also. I have 2 dogs and would like to keep them a little contained. I have looked at several options but have not seen the "safari straps". So far i am looking at smitty bilt cargo net and a shade that looks like a fast back bikini. Also found another strap cargo net on allthingsjeep.com

The Smittybilt is no where near as strong and has to be used independently of your soft top. Safari Straps are the way to go! www.safaristraps.com

Safari straps would be my vote DIY, locally owned and operated company and put out a top notch product.

I have only the "Freedom" top on my 12' JKU .
Do I require any additional hardware?

For the guys that have the Safari straps, is it easy to load the back ? I am looking into these so my dogs can ride with me when topless, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to get them in. Right now I have the hard top on and they jump in the back. Does the back part unhook or roll up in any way ?

Yes. I really like them with the soft top up. They keep wet noses off the plastic windows.

No additional hardware needed. The only mod I had to make to keep the Safari Straps on with the hardtop, was to drill holes in two of the straps, because the screw knob interfered.

Yes, the back part will unhook, I would not want to do it all the time though.

Sorry, I know this is an older thread, but in answer to your question, you need the rear tailgate bar that comes with the soft top and its two retainer clips. The back of the Safari Strap enclosure clips to it for tension.

Quadratec has the factory Mopar bar and retainer clips for $98 before tax/shipping.
