I took my lower dash panel off just under the steering wheel and put it under there out of sight. It is plenty loud enough and not in the way or seen.

I have mine sitting under the driver seat. Not even 'mounted', just laying there.

I got a compact one and placed it in the console. Well out of sight and still convenient.

Depending on the size of the speaker, many people run the wire along the roll bar to the sound bar and cut out some of the foam and zip it under the roll bar cover.
