Change from a hard to Soft Top?

I have a 2007 JKU Sahara, it came with a hard top only. Someone is selling a soft top for the same year,4 door JKU, is it an easy install or are there alot of peices and mods to make it work?

I believe that all of the hard points are made into the body or cage although I'm not 100% sure on the attachment rail on the windshield header. You may have to purchase some loose hardware (depends on if the seller is keeping the hardware or giving it over with the top) but you shouldn't have to do any mods to make it fit.

In this pic, you can see the two main pivot points (primary hard points), one on each cage down post and one on each side just beside the rear seat. If I remember correctly, there should be one screw for each of these points.

Rtone, very helpful! I attached the pics the guy posted, there are the plastic peices that go beside the back seats and then the obvious parts of course but I do not see the attachment rail for the windshield header like you mentioned.

Only thing I see missing is the bracket that mounts to the roll bar and connects to the bows. I just took all this same stuff off my wife's JK yesterday.

Looks like I may have been totally off base with the windshield header rail. Looking at the owners manual, it looks like the soft top engages the same hooks on the windshield as the freedom panel latches.

I never did pay attention on mine. Pulled the soft top out as soon as I got it home and never put it back on, always ran with the hard top.

If you don't happen to have your owners manual anymore, here is a link for an electronic version https://www.techauthority.com/en-US/Pages/Home.aspx , enter the information in steps 1 and 2. For step 3 choose owners manual - viewable flip book. When it loads, expand the Understanding the features of your vhicle tab. Then expand the Dual top - if equipped tab, this has instructions for attaching the soft top back to its hard points. Page 120 of the manual. Page 118 gives an inventory of what should be in the boxes.

When you're done with that, expand the soft top 4 door tab. This one has instructions for putting the top up. Page 155 of the manual.

Spike- I will ask the seller about that thanks for pointing that out!

Rtone - I lost my manual so I am heading to that link after my post

Blastek - that looks like exactly what I need right about now, thanks
