Change Oil message?

Hey-O,

New to the forum, but a long time off and on again Jeep owner. Just got a 2010 Rubi 3 months ago,...at 2500 miles the "Chage Oil" message came on by the Odometer at start up. Got the oil changed...and the message is still showing at start up. Been on for a week now.

My previous Jeeps weren't so fancy as to have digital anything...

Thanks in advance for any tip on how to get it to go off.

yeah mines not that fancy either but usually if you hold the button down a few seconds it will reset it. On my girlfriends car if you hold the enter button it will reset it.

There is a method to reset it, but it's not about holding down a button.

Read here (http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/oil...set-74837.html).

Unfortunately there's no button to press.

The procedure to reset the change oil message has been posted here a million times and is right there in your owner's manual. 2010's and newer have the manual on a DVD. It can also be downloaded at www.jeep.com.

While you check on that, you can reset it by doing the following:

Turn the key to the "on" position without starting th engine. It's the 2nd click. All of you dash warning lights should be on. Press the gas pedal all the way to the floor 3 times. Turn the key to "off".

I wasn't knocking you, just trying to be clear so as to best answer the original poster. Keep helping, no worries.

You really should, just because of all the good information about the Jeep part time 4WD system.

Turn key to "ON" position but do not start your Jeep
Now fully press gas pedal 3 times witin 10 seconds
Turn key off and start Jeep - Change Oil message should be reset for another I believe 3,500 miles.
These were the steps to reset the reminder messags in my '09 X.
Hope it helps.
