That is a great idea. Where did you buy them? I want them for the tailgate too!

Buy four cans of aerosal rustoleam flat black and coat your under carrage. Look great, and if your in the salt bed, done yearly will keep away the corrosion

I did this with a three weeks mine came undone. Took it out and got rid of it. I am not sure if I want to do it again. Might spend more money for the grille inserts that just pop in without removing the front grille of the Jeep

A little high temp rattle can on the undercarriage, lime shock boots to go with the paint, and some fluorescent rattle can for the interior. Most expensive part was $20 for the shock boots.

It's pretty damn sturdy. It's the kind of wire mesh you staple over holes on the outside of your house to keep squirrels out. I was originally silver, which would actually look pretty cool on a black or white Jeep. I thought it would clash with the Dozer though so I plasti-dipped it and it looks great. I would have bought the plastic rain gutter ones but they didn't have them in black. My lack of patients got the better of me so I bought this stuff.

In MD have to have a driver mirror and the rear view. So to take my doors off and be legal I took a 6" 1/4" socket extender- $4, 3-4" round mirror-$10 and 90mph tape-already. Put socket in top door hinge hole, tape the top, attach mirror and tighten down. All together around $15

Just finished the trunk cover mod! Turned out really well. just 1/2" plywood, cut in two pieces, covered in automotive carpet. A few bolts, wing nuts and washers to hold it on. Now I can take the doors off an still have a half decent place to put stuff without people having a little fight to get to my stuff.

One bonus ( definitely did not plan this ) I made the piece close to the seats a little too big. I had to drop the seats, install the cover and put the seats back up. Well that fit must be exact because I cant put the seats down with the cover installed! That was actually a big concern, the cover is great but there's just too many ways to get in there!

Also, the top goes up and down and I can put the windows on without any interference so I don't have to worry about uninstalling the cover if the top needs to go up.

Great Job. I love this mod. Definitely beats the $450 for a Tuffy Tailgate Security Deck.

Anyone have a link to the connectors, not the zip ties, but the square base connectors?

Also, besides rain gutter mesh, what other mesh should I use?

Thanks!

Here's the only link I could find online at home depot, in the store they have packages of 10 and you can get black or white. I think they were like $1.95 a pack for the 10 count. Hope this helps

Home Depot has them in all sorts of packages (10/25/50). You have to peel the adhesive back off and epoxy them to the grill!

I added foam to the inside of the console lid to keep my stuff in the upper part of the console from sliding around when I access the lower part of the console.

I also use a lanyard wrapped around the passenger seat headrest post and clipped to the child seat anchor to keep the rear seat from flopping back when folded up.

Okay, I'll contribute.

My head always baked while wheeling cause the hardtop is black so I painted the top white to match the body color. Just between the ridges on the roof, not the sides since I don't care for the look of the factory color match hard top. Still looks stock from the side, but dropped the roof temp (inside) by about 30 degrees. Total cost about $25 bucks for the rattle cans, some masking, and alcohol to clean first.

I just bought these from RR. Black billet inserts. Took 60 seconds to install. Cost about 130$. No regret
