How are these holding up Seadog?

Also have beach towel seat covers - first thing we bought for the Jeep. Easy to wash and each year I get new ones. Can't do that with the "real" seat covers - too expensive. Thought about the grommet thing with the beach towels but all we do is tie them behind the head rest. The towels don't 'stay in place' but all you do is scooch it back into place before climbing in.

: )

If you have the non-GPS radios you can mount your GPS plastic disc that comes with it for the dash to the underside of the storage bin on top. This way when you need to use it you can either stick it to the window or flip over the storage bin and stick it to the disc.

Idea

Reading this thread gave me a good idea I plan to do this weekend. Buy some 4" pvc pipe, 2 pvc end caps screw ons, paint it, zip tie to back wheel wells. A place to store bungees, gloves, towels, etc in.

Got a couple of messages about the security deck I built. Here are the dimensions I used. They were a little off and I basically just used a jigsaw to make final adjustments. I used 1/2" plywood, but would recommend using at least 3/4". Mine flexes a bit.

After I cut the boards I laid them in place and used a marker to mark the spot for the holes for the bolts by drawing through the underside of the jeep's lip.

I used 5/16" x 1 1/4" bolts and 5/16" x 1 1/4" washers with wing nuts to secure them on the underside.

Those are great! My wife and I both got a kick out of this. Unfortunately, ours require tween/teenage versions.

Having raised two children to adulthood, I'd suggest handcuffs.

I followed a write up over on JK-Forum to add a Homelink transmitter to the center trim piece over the windshield. $30 for one off of eBay and now I no longer have to keep a remote in the top tray of my console.

Someone had posted something similar recently which gave me the idea... On my 07 I unzipped the top of the roll bar cover on the vertical bar that the Driver's seatbelt runs down. There is a nice amount of space to just toss in the garage door opener and zip it back up. It's out of the way, and hidden from view. Nobody would be able to open the garage door if my rig were in the driveway with the top off. And you can just press the button through the cloth cover.

I'm going to buy Plasti Dip tomorrow and do my Trail Rated Badges, door hinges, hood hinges, evil eyes, and maybe my fenders and grille. Just curious if anyone has done this to their factory fenders and how well the spray holds up? Also on the grille how well does it hold up? It will be my first time using Plasti Dip, so is there anything special I need to know about prep or how many coats is preferred for the best results?

Did this to mine... Took 30 minutes, looks great, and functions even better. I just need to remember to hide it when I go doorless

I painted my body color fenders on my Sahara. WORKS GREAT! Clean the surface REALLY well. Soap and water, then wipe down with a clean cloth or paper towels. If there's dirt or stuff on the surface the plasti-dip won't stick well. Just make sure to keep the can moving about a 10" away to avoid it clumping up. And for God's sake REMEMBER TO TAPE OFF THE REST OF YOU JEEP! I used news paper and covered everywhere around the fenders and still found some over spray in places. A still day with no wind will help.

As far as holding up goes, I've been off-roading about 4 times since I did it. Major brush and branches rubbing a good portion of the time and there are only a few nicks out of the coat. Easily fixed by a quick shot of plasti-dip. It's held up very well.

I did about 5 coats of flat black plastidip on my grill it has lasted and still going strong! no peeling or anything!

Just remember to give it time to cure between each coat, and let it cure overnight

Has the mirror mod already been posted? You can drill a small hole in the base of your factory door mirrors and it will let water and mud run out. When I drilled these on my '11...you wouldn't believe how much muddy water flowed out of the base of the mirror. Those things trap water like mad. That can't be good long term.

Do you have a pic of where exactly you drilled?

Be sure to drill at an angle so that water shoots outwards
