Finally got around to the Imageshack account, so here is a photo of my dead pedal that I'm pretty happy with for stop and go traffic.

So after about a month of use, I want to tweak this a bit, and make it slightly closer to the height of the clutch and a little thicker.

Only modification made so far is a zip tie to keep the door strap from falling on the bracket.

Pretty much a win though, I use it all the time.

I did the Gutter Guard/Zip Tie grill insert mod this weekend. I'm sure it will fall off at some point, but whatever. It was cheap and easy!

Should I do the side mirror drill mod on a 2013 if the mirrors are electronically adjustable? I don't like to drill into things if I don't know what's behind it.

oh yea, one note in another thread said to drill at an angle so the water stream coming out will go away from the jeep.

I just leave the mirrors on the doors. A lot of guys in my club, including myself, just put little spot mirrors on our air vents. It's cheap and legal. (atleast here in Texas)

Yup, that pretty much sums it up. 3 screws per speaker. An easy quick disconnect if you want or let it hang then just start stuffing. Doesn't take long at all.
So can you do the same thing with the in-dash guys too? Make any difference?

Grill mod

Did the grill mod today with the aluminum gutter guard. Easy to do but wished I painted it black.

I did need to do the 'mirror drill' mod on my 2010 in order to not have the water stains below them, but haven't found it necessary on the '13.

Are yours weeping water there after a heavy rain or a washing?

Plasti dip sucks

It will be my first time using Plasti Dip, so is there anything special I need to know about prep or how many coats is preferred for the best results?
Dont use it on your fenders! Been there, done that, it peels off!

One bonus ( definitely did not plan this ) I made the piece close to the seats a little too big. I had to drop the seats, install the cover and put the seats back up. Well that fit must be exact because I cant put the seats down with the cover installed! That was actually a big concern, the cover is great but there's just too many ways to get in there!
Also, the top goes up and down and I can put the windows on without any interference so I don't have to worry about uninstalling the cover if the top needs to go up.
Nice build... cheap trunk security

This looks great. I have twin 12" sub box in the rear. This would protect it nicely but I wonder how badly it would kill or maybe amplify the sub enclosing the entire system underneath that...

Wow. Just pulled up the video on the mirror drain hole mod. I had no idea there might be that much water in there. I'm going to do this as soon as I get home. You would think Jeep would send out a notice, do a recall, or something.

Thanks! I will say though, I if was going to build this again (and I might), I'd find some way to reinforce it with metal brackets or something. After about 8 months of having it on there, the rain has warped the wood a bit and it's got a slight droop to it.

It's a little dampened but I still here my stock 10" infinity sub. With two 12" subs, you should be more than fine.

I've done the Mopar hood lock kit, Mopar rubber front floor mats, and the Mopar door sill guards. All of the above are inexpensive and easy to do.

i haven't tried it yet but when the doors are off instead of buying new mirrors for $50 plus, i have heard people sticking convex mirrors to the air vent. convex mirrors cost about $2.00 each at pep boys or even cheeper on amazon

Dumb Question...

I have a silver antenna and wanted to PlastiDip it black. I started thinking that I know PlastiDip acts as an insulator from an electrical perspective so I was wondering if I PlastiDip my antenna, will my reception on the stereo decline?

Thanks

Dan
