Removed the rear headrests on my 2 door except when i have passengers large enough to benefit from them. "the rear head rests ride in the storage compartment in rear when not in use" I also swapped out the original front "almost rock hard" headrests for ones out of a 2010 grand cherokee. Got a pair in dark graphite leather for only $20 on Craigslist. The guy removed them for built in dvd setups.

Awesome idea - I did it today and they rock. I had the grommet kit & I got 2 big ass beach towels at Ocean State Job Lot for 6 bucks a piece. I sewed an elastic peice instead of the carabiner for easy slip on/off. So for 12 bucks I have awesome towl seat covers for the dirty, hairy dog! Thanks for the idea!

5x5 beach towel i had that just so happens to compliment the color of my jeep.

Just Doubled up the towel and placed grommet at each corner at the top for clipping around the headrest. Grommet on each side to run a bungee under seat to keep towel in place when getting in or out. Hard to find inexpensive seat covers for jk let alone something that isn't neoprene. These serve dual purpose at the lake, beach, etc and can easily be tossesed in the washer (i'm notorious for dribbling coffee in the wee hours). Lol! Quadratech sells the same thing for $30 ea. Almost endless choices of beach towels out there.

Glad they worked for you. I just take them out and throw them in the wash. Wavey

Good stuff! Here are some more,.... 2011 rear head rests are attached so fold them back and tie them in place for more rearview. Piggley Wiggley t-shirts for seat covers, 99 cent can of black spraypaint for rims, plywood dust cover for cargo area, plywood bikini top and the most expensive one so far,...PVC rod holder for beach rods ($40)

Lets the water drain out instead of stream out. That's why all the hinges get corroded . I think that's the reason

Blackhawkfan: At the bottom of the mirror, about 3/4" out from where it is mounted to the door, the plastic tapers up, and right where it becomes horizontal, you drill a tiny hole. I took the mirrors off to drill them. If you are careful enough you can do it with them mounted, but you could scratch the metal on the back side if you aren't.

Here's another cheap tip while I'm here. Haven't seen this one mentioned: Saw a 1/4" thick piece of plywood - like the flooring underlayment stuff, to 6.5" x 13", then round the corners a little. Now, look at the bottom of the back seat in a JK unlimited. Right in the middle, you'll note that they did a poor job (ie...none) of supporting the foam of the rear seat in the middle. There are little rods across the front and the back of the seat in the center. But nothing in the middle. If you've never sat in the middle, or won't, you maybe don't care. Anyway, that piece of plywood can be slid back far enough over the rear rod, then slid forward to rest nicely above the front rod. Your rear seat is now "fixed better than new".

4, half watt, High Power, SMD, 6k white, festoon bulb from V-LEDs.com... one bulb lights the entire cab but I just ordered map lights also. The festoon is on sale for 8 bucks, the map lights are 30 for a pair.

So I took some polyfill out of a LLbean dog bed and filled in the open area in the sub box and around the speakers on the roll bar on my Infinity stereo. Made sure to not put too much and to make sure it didn't touch the speakers. Really surprised how much more bass there is now. My review mirror was shaking and woke the wife up. Got the old, "WTF did you read on WF now!!!" Zero cost but I do have to sew the dog bed back up and put the cover back on. See how much it costs me when she see that one.

All auto parts stores have "Throttle Cable" kits--thats what it is shortened/adapted/modified and it's a straight pull on the latch tumbler !
