Would love to get some opinions on the best mods for a new JK that are:

A. Cheap
B. Easy/Cheap to Install
C. Awesome!!!

Gas door, sill plates, and taillight guards were a few I did.

Just installed my smittybilt GEAR tailgate cover.

MORE dead pedal is another good one

I saw a write up on project JK for a way to mount a maglite on the bottom side of the drivers seat. Will be doing that one this weekend.

Although I will say 'easy to install' has been lost a bit in it...

Can't believe they charge $50-$100 for the
kit.
Cost like what $10?

$20-$30 at home depot but you get a lot of extra zip ties and fasteners for other stuff

cheapest mod I know: turn your rear view mirror "upside" down, you get a better view.

literally takes 5 seconds. you pull down your rear view mirror so you have room to turn it. then turn it so the tab is on top. that's it, adjust accordingly to get your view right.

also, these two stickers cost me 8 dollars shipped and look as though they came with the jeep. the thin white outline you see was later rubbed off with my finger nail, I was just too lazy to re-take the picture when the sticker was perfect.

you can also plasti-dip the grill jeep logo. again, this is super easy and when I say that I really mean it. Just newspaper off the surrounding area, spray a layer on, wait 35 mins, spray 3 more layers on with the same waiting time in between both, for a total of 4. then just peel away the extra stuff.

as you peel, the plasti-dip on the letters will stay put, but the stuff that got onto the grill will come off.

and while i am at it, i'll show you my interior hardtop plasti-dipped. it looks much better than the white. there are some mis-colored spots that i recently fixed just by adding another layer in those areas.

you also see the flipped rear view mirror.

My $25 grill inserts. I did this before I saw the gutter guard and zip tie method. Attached wrong pic, new pic to follow.

$6 quick disconnects.

Attachment 91245

A little noisy when pulling in/out of driveways because the hole on axle is larger than the swaybar link hole. But saves a ton of time and effort on trailhead.

Also did mirror flip, grab handles, straps for seatbelt flutter, sill guard, painted muffler black, locking fuel door and removed rear headrests.

Is that the grill mod from Automotive Authority via Amazon for about $38? Looks like same stuff u can get from Home Depot in a kit and the mesh is black. That would be my first cheap mod...after the mirror trick.
